You think? If it is, then Chris Rock is a better actor than I ever thought.

As if Will Smith would react/speak like that at the Oscars in a staged event. What would have to gain from doing that? If it was Gervais, Baron Cohen etc. then maybe, but even they wouldn't talk like that.

I know he has form for it, judging by that last clip, but he wouldn't achieve anything from it.

Yeah if it was just the slap then possibly id could be a really misguided attempt at something but his shouting and swearing afterwards and rock's reaction means to me that it definitely wasn't planned Laughing out loud

Mental. Rock took that well, Will Smith not so much. Sounded like a right thud rather than a slap.

I initially thought staged like the crowd, but you can see the emotion from Will once he dropped the explicits and it was clear that it was genuine.

As others have said, at a global prestigious award like the Oscars, you wouldn't risk a staged stunt like that…

People saying it was staged Laughing out loud everything’s an ‘inside job’ these days

He slapped that reporter a while ago who kissed him.

Would imagine with all the recent publicity around his relationship with his wife, and her alopecia (baldys unite), Will thought it was a step too far

Still surprised he did it though. Jokes a joke at the end of the day. Chris took it like a true professional.

Yeah this didn’t look staged…. Smith’s face at the end there…. Should have pulled his nomination for that. But anyone notice he actually laughed at the joke but the wife didn’t so as soon as he saw her face he goes over to act all hard.

Self important prick.

Doesn’t mind his wife getting fucked by the rest of Hollywood but a bald joke… lol

Will Smith initially laughed at the joke. But then he saw his missus was fuming about it and took swift action. VEry clear to see who controls that relationship.

Edit: @Fudge you just edited in what I was typing. I noticed that too Smiling

Lol yep. She deffo has some power over him. Weirdos. Would he have done that to Gervais? I doubt it.

He lost it afterwards with the ranting, must have thought he had fluffed his chance of an Oscar.

To be honest, if this was in the pub no one would bat an eyelid about a slap following comments like that. Get the sense it was about a lot more than that single joke which bubbled over.

Wasn’t even a pointed joke and not even a good one at that.

Cmon, the guy clearly has some issues. No excuse to do that.

Rock comes out of it looking the most professional.

Wasn’t there a recent GI Joe also?

Edit: who cares.

Take the Oscar from him and give it to Denzel for Macbeth.
