The A2 are really loud for the size, my current pc speakers. Unfortunately the power transformer reduces the portability a little bit but obviously they would sound shit if they could run via batteries or USB. I think you can use them with a subwoofer as well.

Bumping a pretty old thread, sorry!

Does anyone own one of these?

https://www.bose.co.uk/GB/en/home-and-personal-audio/wi-fi-music-systems/soundtouch-wi-fi-music-systems/soundtouch-portable-ii-wi-fi-music-system/

Is it worth the extra money compared to a Sonos Play 3?
Sonos has more streaming platforms available, but no Airplay and still lacks integration with very common, and free, platforms like Mixcloud.
Bose has Airplay, which can be the solution, but has almost no integration with streaming platforms, at least the free ones.
How does it work with say Spotify via Airplay instead of the dedicated app? Any problem?

I was actually also looking for the same answer ^
I'm looking for speakers which I can connect my iphone/ipad/macbook to with bluetooth/wifi.
Any recommendations? Budget around 200, or cheap as possible as I'm going to use it only for a year.
Does anyone know some websites with good deals etc?

@ Anto: afaik you need an app for Sonos and that's already something I don't want actually. Prefer AirPlay (mainly because everything I own is Apple). Also I'm not sure if you want to watch a movie on your mac, if you could still use the speakers for the sound because you're not playing it from the app.

Get the bowers & Wilkins Z2. Couldn't be happier with mine.

Anything connects to it via wifi. It streams the audio from that device, so can play youtube, mixcloud, anything you want. It's brilliant.

Should clarify: it works with AirPlay. If you've got macs or an iPhone it's perfrct

Naim Muso one of the best speaker/one box units on the market at the moment. So much better than Sonos. Tested one the other week and it's not bad at all.

It should be better at £900, Sonos start at around £150 - £400 so not really comparable.

for anyone after a cheap alternative to a sonos, currys are doing chrome casts for £15. You can use any old speakers and daisy chain as many as you want, works brilliantly.

I got one and thought it was crap, tries to limit what you can play from phone to Google store items and had awful feedback unless a long 3.5mm lead was used from the speakers.

Should have said, if your apple it's not great but if you're android its great. Plays all my native music as well as every music/video app i have as well as the chrome browser.
Not noticed any issues with feedback at all.
Edit: i've got it set up with 3 chrome casts round the house.

Anyone recommend any decent speakers for music to be connected to a macbook (so plugged in not portable).
Ideally less than £100?

I know nothing about it and my logitechs have just had the aux cable fuck itself and it's not replaceable. tia

Just saw this - I had the Chromecast Audio and an Android phone and it was still trying to force me to only play songs that had been purchased via the Google store. So the mixes I downloaded from legit sources, but free of copyright protection/DRM could only be played by some awkward method.

And the feedback issue was just a killer. Obviously a totally different solution but ended up buying Q Acoustics BT3 speakers and they have worked flawlessly.

I just received 2 eltax monitor iiis from my brother-in-law. Have no idea about sound tech at all! How do I connect them to my MacBook?

I looked at buying one of these?
