What's the fit like on regular Red Wing chukkas? I'm a size (UK) 8 normally (and a size 8 in Clark's Desert Boots) - would that correspond with a size 8 in Red Wings?

I'm generally a 9 and my 9s are possibly just slightly too big. But they work well with a thicker sock and I ain't going to be wearing them in the summer.
