The earth is 4500, 000, 000 years old.
Gotta put these modern day religions into perspective.

Guido please take a second to think of all the great thinkers, leaders, writers, scientists, musicians and philosophers that have held religious beliefs and in comparison make you look like a brain dead moron and maybe think about reconsidering your "brainwashed idiot" statement.

Religion is simply a tool created by man to control the masses. If people cant see through that then they must be an idiot to some degree. In the past it may have been harder to see the truth but there's no excuse today.

eliotness you have to take into account that a lot of the people you are referring to could not express any agnostic or atheistic feelings. There was a time you would have been burned at the stake for such beliefs.

And this is 2010 Bill Hicks. Our calEndar that dates back to the birth of Christ. Guidos entire existence centres around God - the laws of this land are based on the 10 commandments. What happen if you steal or kill? You get punished. That's just one example. I think he's the blind ignorant one… but God gave us choice, which is why we sin or choose not to believe.
Who created man Guido? Who created the big bang? Why is there a God particle?

Do you think in the absence of religion we'd have failed to realise that killing each other or stealing from each other is bad? Are you suggesting that humans would not develop some degree of morals without religion.
Man wasn't created he evolved.

Punishments for stealing and killing pre-date the Old Testament by thousands of years.

I think the "brainwashed" aspect applies only if you interperit your religion in a way that shuts out all positive aspects of other beliefs, religious or not.
Dismissing everything else as rubbish and a lie is incredibly ignorant and unfortunately can be the mindset many people take. However, there are masses of religious people, celebrated and not, that are able to maintain a faith allowing it to give positive structure to their lives etc, whilst still understanding and acknowledging other belief systems and philosophies both religious and not. to me that is a way of being religious and not being brainwashed.
as mr X said, your dismissal of all faiths as bullshit and failure to recognise any positive aspects they have had on modern society is ignorant, closed minded and brainwashed.
for the record i am not religious, I just strongly disagree with your "brain washed idiot" statement.
