I have everything delivered to my work address so they can never pull this shit, but it is truely out of order, makign the assumption that nobody is in the house during working hours is totally the norm. Just forces you to use pre 9am.

I used Parcel2Go.com when I had to post an xbox to Dublin.

Royal mail wanted £47 which was more expensive that me getting the train there and back to deliver the item myself.

I went with Parcel2Go.com and it was £14 and they collected the item from my house and hand delivered it.

Very good service.

im waiting for a pair of shoes to be delivered from london sent by special delivery on monday
on tuesday..no arrival..tracked it online "progressing through our system" wednesday "out for delivery" online. but no delivery. no note. checked back online "progressing through our system" yesterday aparantly they tried to deliver it and had "left a sorry you were out card" no they fucking didnt.
now im going to have to deal with the donought at the local sorting office to try and get the item.
fucking bastards.

anything over about 3 kilos, use a courier, so much cheaper and as you say, they collect from your home or work, etc.

This might be a pretty retarded but are post offices closed as well? I have a special delivery pacel waiting which i can't pick up within their shit opening hours till Friday but with the new strikes will i even be able to get it then!?

franchised post offices will still be open and you will still be able to collect signed for/special delivery stuff that you were'nt at home for from the sorting depos, i read that on the royal mail website not 20 mins ago

i actually just read that on friday 'only coding offices for poorly addressed mail' will be striking so deliveries and collections are as normal. so should be fine.

still royal mail are cunts..

their service had better be bang on when this stuff is sorted out, but i doubt it will be.

The Communication Workers Union has notified Royal Mail of the intention to hold two further days of strike action on Friday 6th & Monday 9th November. If it goes ahead, this industrial action will affect most mail services on both Friday 6th and Monday 9th November.
