Its a fooking T-shirt Evil Fooking Clife Edge Pussies said marking down or writing gift is againist the law !!!

"Thank you for your email.

I am sorry to hear you have not yet received your parcel and can understand how frustrating the delay must be for you.

As the UKBA are a separate organisation from Parcelforce Worldwide, I must advise we have no control over the length of time they take to process parcels. Due to this, I am sorry I cannot give a definite date when your parcel will clear with UK Border Agency and be released back to Parcelforce Worldwide.

If you wish to speak to UK Border Agency with regards to your item please contact them on: 0845 6004781.

Once your item has cleared Customs, it will be sent on to your local depot for delivery and will arrive within 2 working of being released by the UKBA.

If no customs charges have been raised on your parcel, delivery will be attempted the first possible working day.

If there are charges raised on your parcel your item will be held at your local depot pending payment of these charges. We will send a letter of notification regarding the charges raised with a 17-digit number required for us to take payment.

Once this has been received you can pay your charges online at www.parcelforce.com and click the “receiving a parcel” tab. Alternatively you can call us on 08448 004466 to pay your charges. Once your charges have been paid, the parcel will delivered to the original address on the parcel on the day selected.

If you have not received a letter requesting payment of charges, or received your item within 7 working days of clearing Customs, please contact us and we will investigate.

You can track the progress of your item at www.parcelforce.co.uk

I apologise for any inconvenience the delay may cause to you.

If you require further assistance, please contact us at: parcelforce@parcelforce.co.uk

Our hours of business are Mon to Fri: 8am to 5:30pm.

Kind regards

Ian Anderson

Is it pretty much guaranteed that ordering from a shop in the US, if they put the actual value of the item and don't mark it as a gift etc, you'll get stung for charges?

Customs don't miss a thing man.

If its a smaller retailer or an independent then email and ask them. I normally just say I'm shopping around and if they would be willing to mark down and gift then theirs would be my best price. Never had a no except off of chains.

With eBay I'm fine, only been done twice off the top of my head out of dozens of purchases, I've just never bought anything from an actual shop over there. Already emailed them and they said they can't mark it as a gift, was only a fleeting enquiry really as I have no money and would have to sell a few bits to even be able to consider getting it. So a definite no go then?

Didn't really know where to put this.
I ordered something from thvm which is based in America. The delivery cost me $20, then I had to pay £25 customs charges for it, and now it turns out when I've actually got it, they've sent me the wrong item. Evil
It's gonna cost me about £15 to send it back for a refund, can I claim all of this back off them as they've made a huge mistake with this? If not, what can I get back?
Proper pissed me off, and couldn't have come at a worse time.
Any help would be appreciated.

What would be the best way to post a heavy jacket to Denmark? Can you send this type of thing through a normal post office? Never sent anything abroad before. Any help appreciated!

The cheapest way would be royal mail international signed for. You can add extra cover if the jacket is valuable. Or get a quote from www.interparcel.com for a courier delivery. Probably be about £20 either way

depends how much it weighs. you need to keep it under 2 kilogram. so use bags/bubble wrap if it's close to 2 kilo. (if using royal mail, if its over 2 kg price usually doubles and it goes through parcelforce).

Marking as a "gift" has no bearing on the import duty or the level of VAT you pay. The only thing that matters is the price they write on the CDF.

Thanks for the help. I'll bag it and take it the post office. Was expacting £20-25 so I'm glad you've said that.

It will be getting marked as whats been paid, £200.

Denmark is part of the EU so there's no need for filling in a customs form. Definitely insure it up to £250.

Anyone know the best way to track something being sent from the US? Using the USPS website it only tells me that it's left the States (which was on 2nd Sept) and nothing after that. Tried Parcel Force as well but they're just saying it's unavailable.

speak to the company about it, they should cover the return postage as it is their mistake, they will not cover the import duty I doubt as they will claim that is your responsibility, and in theory when you send it back out you should be able to reclaim that money (less any processing fees) although I cannot imagine that is a straight forward or quick process…

I would also suggest to the website in question that they then pay for the return shipping to you of the correct item (as you technically already paid for shipping the first time)

What was the exact service it was sent on? This will let me tell you if it's going to be delivered by Parcel Force or Royal Mail.

Also do you have the 14 digit tracking number ending in "US" like this: AA000100019GB.

If so put it in this website and check "incoming international parcel". If that doesn't work do the same and change the US part of the code to GB.

Also go on parcelmonkey.com or interparcel and bang in the approx size + weight and see the prices, over a certain size it's cheaper than royal mail by far.

Sorry to be a nause again with this. Does this mean my parcel has left the US or is it just sitting in a warehouse in New York somewhere?

Your item was processed through our JAMAICA, NY 11430 facility on September 02, 2011 at 6:34 am. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.
