Have you been to your local sorting office?

Loads of temps are now working in the sorting office, which may explain some of the theft and longer delivery times.

Also was told at the sorting office loads of permanent staff have opted to work reduced hours.

RM doesn’t get the kinds of complaints Hermes does.
Not sure how big companies won’t switch away from Hermes after this.

3 x 2nd
1 x 2nd signed for

I have sent hundreds of parcels with Hermes and loss rate has been about 1-2%.

Although I haven’t used them for volume since pre Covid.

RM loss rate currently looking much worse.

Any alternatives for up to 2kg parcels costing £4.10 or less?

I have sent and received several Special Delivery items recently and it’s been ultra reliable. I would only use SD if sending stuff for eBay etc.

Just be careful about sending stuff any other way: I sent something 1st class recorded signed for, and whilst the buyer confirmed receipt, the post office is no longer asking recipients to sign for those items, so the tracking system never updates to show delivery. This could be a potential ball ache if a dodgy buyer cottons on and says it was never received.

SD is fine for high value but nobody is going to pay that level of shipping (£11ish?) for a £20-30 item

Also I thought tracking was still updated when delivered without physical signing?

No issue with Royal Mail in Bath (via Bristol). Had about a dozen parcels sent via 1st class signed for and tracked 24/48 all delivered within their timeframes over the last month. Even ParcelFarce (sending and receiving) has been on the ball, despite throwing parcels over the front gate to maintain social distancing Laughing out loud

I sent an item back to a seller via recorded signed for. It was a Grailed purchase but it had a pen mark on the front, so I returned it. PayPal would not issue the refund until delivery was confirmed, but the RM system was never updated. So I was in limbo. Luckily the seller told PayPal that he had received it. The tracking is still showing as undelivered.

deary me

my mrs used hermes to return some shoes to coggles for some unknown reason. were shipped insured etc but obviously they have been lost. She needs the "HRM" code to raise a ticket with them - but I used parcel monkey to book it so have a tracking number that begins with "PM". Any way to convert this number? to an HRM number?

Anyone had trouble with dpd and got a good way to contact them? Emailed them twice and getting no reply and website just taking me round in circles trying to find a contact number.

They said they delivered something two weeks ago to me while I was at work signed by me and the driver took this dodgy picture to confirm delivery. Cunt

Anyone got a phone number for Hermes customer support? One listed online, line just goes dead after one ring…

Bought something from Arket to be delivered to a local parcel shop but the tracking keeps going back and forth with the same updates for the past 3 days and still hasn't been delivered to the parcel shop
