Up until the last few weeks the most I’ve done was 25km. I did 30km (with a 4km w/u) the weekend past and I actually reckon I could have run further - although probably wouldn’t wanted to push to 42km. I’ll get to 42km this year though. For sure.

Done with that distance for a bit now mate, 10k and halfs for longer runs
quads still sore, do a light run Tues I think.

Nice work! Did you carry fuel with you or set up replenishment stops ahead of time?

2 gels, in hindsight setting up a couple of water stations would of been very helpful.

Lightweight / thinned out due to wear - shorts are mandatory

I like these, tights/leggings without shorts isn't ideal and uncomfortable with:

anything similar to these available anywhere? these are Phenom Elite Trail but OOS everywhere (M/L) small on eBay

these are back in stock on Nike, and in the sale, use NIKE2021 for another 15% off and 5.5% Quidco

Copped Cool

if you ordered a large and are going to back them can you pm me,

mine arrived, while difficult to put on they are not horrendous, easier barefoot, and taking off is harder than putting on,

Yes I ordered a large, they turned up today but I'm still at work, I'll let you know how I get on with them.

I quickly tried these on last night, I haven't decided what I'm doing yet but I don't think they are any harder to get on and off than normal running tights well not my skins anyway.

Well done on the 42 odb. 3.45 with no support and first Time is a proper runners time.

Cheeky to mention it here, but this Montbell cap I'm selling is genuinely the best bit of running kit I own.
I bought another one after mucking up the sizing - amazing on rain runs, shape and brim are spot on.

And well done ODB, incredible effort.
I'm hoping to just get a half done this year!

Just joined the strava group. Looking for some trail shoes. Tried some scott kinabula but need to size up and found the back quite high.

Anyone got any recommendations for a wide foot? Not done trails before so something new.

I'm after some too, I just bought some goretex Nike Pegasus Trail 2 but they felt a little narrow, I have wide feet but it seems my left foot must be slightly wider, as I get a pain through the centre of my foot if I have any pressure on the sides. The right foot felt OK.
I want to try some of the wide fitting Hoka Speedgoat, everyone complains that they are really narrow and fit small but I tried a pair of the standard fit in a shop and they didn't feel that bad, can't remember if I sized up though.

Thanks to everyone who sponsored me. I finished the 50 mile challenge today! I've had some trouble with my calves this week but I powered through it, slowly Laughing out loud I go onto nights for 4 nights from tomorrow so I'm going to give my legs a rest, then try to do the extra 20k to get the 100k strave badge. If you haven't already and want to sponsor me you can do here.

Well done Russ, great effort and all for a good cause. Know people who’ve suffered from dementia and it’s a bastard. Good luck hitting your 100k
