A very quick browse show's the Sennheiser OCX685i's receiving good reviews.

Any FUK'ers got any recent personal experience/comments/reviews on their running headphones?
Bought the OCX685i's in the end. No gripes at all although after years of using this type of over ear headphones, I'm still trying to find a perfect (or near perfect) fit.

Training for a half marathon at the moment. Currently doing runs of around 15k a couple of times a week.
10k is just meat and drink and I never use energy drinks for those, but I'm finding as I up the length to around 15k I'm left with nothing in the tank towards the end.

Does anyone use any particular pre run drinks? Thinking I'll probably just try some of this (http://www.myprotein.com/sports-nutrition/tri-carb/10530389.html), but wondered if anyone uses anything else particularly.

I use High5 EnergySource during long cycles and hikes and it's like rocket fuel (usually get it from Wiggle).

They have a guide on how to use it in relation to half marathon running - http://highfive.co.uk/high5-faster-and-further/running-nutrition-guides/half-marathon

Most likely Smiling good opportunity for him though. He was getting smashed today in the voting some 40/50 off but doing well now.

Stopped the 365 challenge yesterday. Went over on my ankle a few days ago whilst out running in the dark (fucking raised manhole covers Evil ) and have been trying to continue over the last couple of days doing the minimum 3 miles a day on a treadmill but finally admitted defeat 'cos of the pain and possibility of doing long term damage as the ankle hasn't improved which is obviously hardly surprising.

1198.21 miles, 47 days left - Bollocks Sad

good effort though burt.

changed up shoes to adidas boost, did first run in them today and knocked 30 sec off my 5k time so now just a shade under 26mins for 5k,and up to 8k this week in my gradual longer runs to get to 10k pre christmas, support to ankle feels better on the shoes and less aches post run

Good effort mate.

Ordered some of the stuff Andy recommended. Hoping to be comfortable with 15k by the end of the month, which gives me 3 months to add the extra 6k for my half marathon in April

Inflammation in the right knee, fucked left foot, been ordered rest and a ton of voltaren to apply 4 times a day on the knee by doctor. Just did a 10k in the woods in 43min, quadruple the voltaren dose to compensate and I'll be fine surely?

you should take any knee pain seriously

it's scarily easy to run through what might seem like something minor and end up with articular cartilage damage

I have low grade chondromalacia in both knees now (confirmed by recent MRI) which I'm pretty sure stems from years of riding BMX and also ignoring knee pain when doing high mileage training for longer races (I've run a couple of marathons and also trained for a 50k)

have to be really careful with not overdoing it when running these days and spend loads of time doing strengthening work for legs

go and read the http://www.kneeguru.co.uk forums if you want to scare yourself into resting up for a while

Doom have you been fitted for trainers? Upandrunning in Notts is good, get sorted and it might sort your knees out.
