Smashed it Zoom. I think I've given up on the idea of sub-20, would have to kill myself to do it (and probably start hating the idea of running in the process of it).

Well done zoom. Ubercool Pretty jealous of that. I'm still working hard for my sub 20 5km.

I’m working hard to get back to sub 20. An injury and too many bottles of red and now anything above a brisk walk feels like it’s going to induce a stroke. Cry

Thanks guys. Still averaging about 275KM a month. Had my first injury last month. Morton’s neuroma in my left foot, physio has advised on these weird metatarsal pads that sit under my sock to help cushion the blows which are helping.

Done a 40k run last week. Only planned on a 20k but just carried on and felt great. No idea why I didn’t just do the extra 2km to say I have done marathon distance.

I must say, it has become addictive. If I don’t run/cycle or do some form of exercise every day I get really agitated and almost feel guilty. Over the last 6 months I could count on one hand the days I’ve had off. But seeing massive results in my times and physique.

Beast mode Ubercool that's awesome zoom, how old are you if you don't mind me asking?
I think my quickest 5k was about 26.5 and doubt I'll improve on that, I am old as fuck though and and only started running this year

Im 34 mate. Never been this fit in my whole life. Have constantly played football at a fairly decent level but stepped up another gear now and feel the best I ever have done.

275km PM is wild.

I could stomach 180-190km but once my monthly figure had a 2 in front of it I started to pick up injuries. And over time if fucked me. I’m at about 150km PM ATM and I’ll work toward 180-190km again. I reckon some people are just built for more…!

That's some bawcy work zoom Cool
What shoes you wearing??

I'm in the same boat as you Scottishmark, been having to sit out the best time of year for running due to hamstring tendonitis. I did this 4 mile run before I was going to have a proper go at a sub 20 min 5k. Kept putting it off due to heat and humidity, but with injury it'll have to wait a bit longer
Been jumping rope and doing hill repeats on the ss mtb to try and keep some fitness. I forgot how damn hard jumping rope is!

Currently running in Pegasus 2 turbo, but as I’m doing so many KMs. I’m getting a new pair every 2 months.

Some great results there Zoom. Peg Turbo 2's are one of the best shoes out there to this day imo, if you like them you'll love the vaporfly. Not sure if they're worth double the money but if you want to improve your times, will definitely help towards that.

Have been running in the Endorphin Speed by Saucony and honestly one of the best running shoes I've laced up, great for tempo work.

Great work Zoom !

I’ve a pair of vaporflys in U.K. 10.5 that I’ll be returning to Nike early next week unless anyones interested …

I’m only letting them go as gizmo was kind enough to offer his alphaflys (thanks again) haven’t taken them for a spin yet but they feel ridiculous on foot.
