If they're the ones I'm thinking of, they're like foam, wear down ridiculously quick. I think they're a cinch to resole though and you can get some red danite ones which are a lot more hard wearing if you're still after that look

I sized down to a UK9 (i'm a uk10) on my grenson fred boots but wore them for the first time today and they're tight width wise, which is bloody annoying cos they seem to fit okay when I tried them on. Do they tend to stretch out much? Might just keep to my red wings… if anyone wants them they're the black pair, worn once mint, £135 shipped (retail £230).

why not go and try them on,ant one of the hundreds of stockists nationwide, this will avoid you getting the size wrong as only you know how you like something to fit and will also allow you to decide if you actually like trickers on, its a very different type of shoe to a visvim interpretation , generally much heavier and much stiffer, its not for everyone and neither are the lasts, they might look like the right thing on the internet but you should look at them on your feet.

A cobbler should be able to stretch them out a little, but in my experience it doesn't actually make much difference.
