Do they tend to stretch out much? Might just keep to my red wings… if anyone wants them they're the black pair, worn once mint, £135 shipped (retail £230).
A good cobbler will stretch good shoes out width wise quite easily

I've just bought some Red Wing Chukkas size 9 and I'm normally a 10 (apparently you should size down 0.5 or 1). If it's too short/narrow, can a cobbler sort it?

I did the same (black suede) and they pinched a little at first but stretch (to an extent) with wear.

Walked home a few weeks ago drunk in the rain wearing a pair of navy suede Sanders that are looking a bit of a mess at the minute. What's the best way to sort them out?

Does anyone on here own Dr Martens boots? Bought a pair recenty and just not sure if I should keep them or not. Always wanted a pair but just not sure if I'd wear them and what to wear them with.

Need a pair of boots for a Canadian winter - waterproof essential for wading through snow and slush. Recommendations?

Terrible. I honestly can't get on with them because they give no heel support whatsoever.
Go to a store and try them on, at least size down 1.

Is it worth considering Butteros as alternatives. Unfortunately there's no store near me that sells either. Or none that I know of (Manchester area)

I don't have wide feet at all, fairly normal but even then CP's are too narrow. They either fit too tight or too big. You need to try them or at least have the option of returning them.

Butteros look to fit slightly wider so more accommodating.

Selfridges stock both.

Go to Marks Work Warehouse and get a propper pair of winter boots, the salt and constant snow/damp will destroy a pair of fashion boots in no time at all.
