I know it sounds stupid, but if they're sold as laceless, is there any point keeping them laceless ? Or would you put some in ?

^ I like. I wonder if you can resole these though? Makes the whole patina development aspect a little redundant if not.

the sole on the henderscheme is completely flat, a cobblers could shape a rubber pad to it easily

Bape centre seams, but they're on a Vibram sole instead of crepe.

They did some desert trek style shoes a season or two back, but they had a big collar on them.

Visvim Paiks? Although reading back, that's not really what you're asking. Verginia is a good shout, especially if you want something like a Clarks weaver as they did a centre seam version and a more straight forward weaver interpretation. I also remember End having a Wallabee style model in one of their last drops from Verginia.

Native Craftworks have some Clarks-esque models, I always see them in a similar light to the classic Clarks models. Maybe Paraboot? But they're a bit clunky.

There was something that Nepenthes had in, some SMUs from a brand from somewhere like New Zealand (can't remember the name) that were very similar to desert boots too.
