Hope they're getting different leathers too but I like the shape and sole.

Like em. That is exactly what I am looking for minus the crepe sole.

These are pretty similar Gizmo. Made by Sanders, like McNairy so will be good quality.

Cheers, will check them out in store. They look a shade lighter to me, but maybe the lighting.

obviously slightly different but £120 cheaper and the leather will be the same

wouldn't pay anything like £320 for McNairy's personally - could get much nicer scotch grain derby like C&J Grasmere for £50 more

That's true. I'd rather pay the extra and go with c&j. The Frans boone pair of coniston is spot on but about 390.

Definitely size down on Grensons, really good sale on over on their site right now too.

IMO Grenson UK7 fits roughly same as Loake UK7.5 (IRL both fit roughly a UK Cool.

I'd be inclined to go with the Loake if I were you. Grenson shoes have never really done it for me, always look a bit off. What's your price range?

Thanks mate, around £190-£220, a few quid off in the sales would be a bonus. Loake Chester and Grenson Archie around the same price range.

Thanks deecoults! One size down seems to be the general opinion.

Yeah saw them while I was looking for alternatives to the Coniston. They're nice, good price too but prefer something a bit darker. Cheers though.

Where's the best place to get some cheap shoe trees? Or is it worth shelling out on some?

I`ve got cheap ones (beech wood) and expensive (cedar) ones, but prefer the cheap ones for boots. Amazon are less than a fiver.

Jones Bootmaker is well worth a look. These are very nice:

They have cheaper options too.
