I’ve had both and would go for Viberg every time.
I’ve had a pair of scouts resoled 3 times and they’re bullet proof.
Visvim are nice but you won’t get a lifetime out of them like Viberg’s.

Just out of interest who did you use to resole Vibergs?
I am currently wearing the Bureau’s scout specials. Great sturdy boots. I would say they are considerably lighter than Redwings.

I wouldn’t recommend timpsons but I knew a guy who worked there and he was very experienced and took pride in his work. He moved away though.
I used them a second time and they didn’t do a good job and some stitching can loose.

There is a serious lack of good cobblers in manchester.

You can send them to that place in London that Specializes In vibram but of your not based there I think postage is gonna really make the price soar.

Getting the Vibram soles can be a pain as well.

They sell 2021s on amazon.us but with postage it’s £30 a pair.

^There's a place in the Royal Exchange Arcade (cant remember the name) that does repairs, primarily for the better class of shoe and boot.

Then you have to get over the fact that Vibergs are…Canadian..better get American boots. I'm thinking USMC Danner RAT boots. Good at kicking in doors in shithole countries Cool

Yeah I tried there a few months ago on a Saturday morning and was stood outside for an hour waiting for them to open.
Pissed me off no end. Web said 11am. Sign on door said 11am and I fucked off at 12 to timpson.

I’ll try them again soon as I need another resole on my Viberg oxfords.

down to where? I think generally any cobbler can do it - one Goodyear welted shoe is like any other really. As long as they can get hold of the sole you want the actual resoling is straight forward

Not sure if that’s sarcasm?
It’s unprofessional and i had any other choice I’d never go again.

Prob the vibram store in old street or had some repairs done at an old place in Goodge Street that seemed decent - they could probably do it, sorry I can't remember the name

What's the best replacement for RW moc toe and Iron Ranger laces. The RW ones are bollocks, keep coming undone. I watched a Ted talk about laces and still the shits come undone.

Whoever suggested a pair of astorflex hang your head. Hands down one of the most uncomfortable boots I've ever tried on.
