Chippewa and Eastland are also cheaper than RW.

I think a lot of highstreet / mid brands are doing work / hiking styles https://www.grenson.com/uk/rutherford-mens-hiker-boots-in-chestnut-pull-up-with-commando-sole.html

Cheers

Danner and Thorogood nah.. US flag branding and embossed script text ruins it.
Grenson - had a bad experience in the past.
Diemme - too chunky

I think I will pay £300 for the Oliver Sweeney's even though I'm going use as beaters until spring. I can't fault the quality on a pair of Church shoes I bought recently but their boots are crazy prices and none of them are to my taste.

Viberg look awesome out of my budget.

Have a look at the Great Divide. Pretty good prices for Vibergs if you are interested. As people said before, they are built like tanks so could take time to break in. Could try Quoddy, Yuketen or Oak Street Bootmakers.

How are people getting on with their Solovair's?
I ordered a pair on 11th Dec (Xmas present off the wife) when they got here the lace holes weren't aligned properly, fuck knows how qc missed them as they where poor. I returned them straight away and they said they would try to get me a replacement before Xmas but may be a little after, they've sent me an email today a month later! telling me they will be at least another month.
If they'd told me that in the first place I could have just bought them from somewhere else. Shit service.
Are they worth it or am I better just sticking the extra to and buying some trickers

Didn't Obama have some oxfords with air soles? Ken Cole or something?

Then Hiroshi was rockin brogues with sports soles for a while too?
