That's the plan. Compromise in what regard? I wore these things all throughout my childhood without fault.

Who else still does hiking boots like this here in Europe? I'd get the Danners but they don't carry them around here, they are also a bit dear.

Could have a look at Gronnel, Zamberlan or Paraboot Professional (rando etc). Prices similar to Danner for leather models but might be a bit cheaper.

Can anyone tell me the UK size of a pair of Clarks desert boots with a sole length of 33.4cm?

I am guessing UK 11 or 12?

Thanks

Its about £60 at Craggs in Leeds — never personally used them but they seem to have good reviews. Might be worth giving them a call — pretty sure you could wrangle a deal with them

is it not the 1460 model? Try 1460 brown or tan and see what comes up

Ben Boot looks close - I was confused by the tan colour, and knot after the 4th eyelet so couldn't work out whether they were a boot or a shoe…

Had some viberg resoled with a vibram sole from a ridge sole for £70 at timpsons, decent job.

Anyone used the vibram workshop on city road? If so, how much are looking at to replace a set of soles?

Was pricier than I thought it would be, think it came to about £80 or £85 in the end, plus £5 to have them posted to me. That was replacing leather soles on some sidezip boots with one of the vibram styles that look like Dainite ones. No complaints with the work though, gave the suede a clean as well and the soles seem like they'll last forever, more or less.

I've used them loads (last time about a year ago) and it was only £50 for getting vibram soles put on shoes…that is quite a price rise!
