I thought their plan was to go public. Will be interesting to see where this goes.

Probably not to everyone's taste, but another shout to the quality of yorkshire sole. I had a pair of mowats (bought of here years ago, and worn to death by me) resoled by Dean. The quality of work and finish is great.

Because of the orginal construction they were randed (im not an expert, thats what he told meLaughing out loud ) but the overall finish is just the same.

Damn, those are blinding! Didn't realise that was possible. They seem pretty solid/sturdy then?
I've a couple pairs of Russell mocs needing resolves and wouldn't mind giving em a similar treatment.

Yeah, so far so good. When they were being done the cobbler said that they were a classic moc construction, so i guess it would be the same for your Russells.

Love the mowats used to love my pair back in 2012/2013, not entirely sure why I sold them.

Were they the folk ones? Crepe soles? Or the ancient ones with the sock liner? Hard to tell. Look great.

Need some hiking boots/trainers, ideally waterproof.
Ideally something built to last but comfort is key.
Any recs?

I have a pair of Scarpa Mistral GTX, almost 5 years of wear and they’ve never let me down. Very comfortable, easy to clean and always kept my feet bone dry in the peak/Lake District and Dales

Adidas terrex, I’ve got the hiking style boots rather than the trainer style but they are spot on if you’re doing proper walking.

Not waterproof but I have a pair of Danner Trail 2650. They do a GTX version. But they are really comfortable.

There’s a pair of the Hokas on eBay, brand new size 8, for £100. Bargain.

Scarpa R-EVO GTX

Might not be the best looking for folks on here but they are the comfiest boots ever. Bought mine, took them on 2 walks and then did a 21 day trek to Everest basecamp in them, not a single problem.

(Im sure they come in other colours)
