I like the look of the Paraboot, slightly slimmer but the Danner has Goretex lining.

I've tried both on and went with the Avoriaz. They're slimmer whereas the MLs were too bulky for what I wanted to wear them with.

The Mountain Light has proper outdoor pedigree compared to the Avoriaz, which is more of a lifestyle shoe. Avoriaz don't have Gore-Tex, but the leather is really thick and but I've worn them in rain and snow and they've been fine. Including in the countryside and walking around ski resorts.

If I wanted some boots for serious hiking, I'd buy something modern and lightweight anyway.
I ended up getting the Danner's and they are great. Surprisingly lightweight with how big they look. I needed something a bit more functional just because of the weather in NE Scotland.

Is the general consensus to size down a full size for marsell shoes?

Would anyone here recommend them? Always been a bit of a weird brand, bit all over the place.

If i was after some fashion inspo hiking boots I'd get some made to measure/have some fun customising a pair from fracap - always seemed quite reasonable for the service.

Do the Gore Tex Wallabies loosen and expand a bit?

Only had standard Clarks DBs previously and found they had a good bit of give after a handful of wears. Would appreciate pointer from anyone with experience so I can decide on a size.

Cheers!

Not had the wallies but wouldn't expect Gretex to stretch much if at all.

that's what I was hoping for as out the box, the fit on the size I've got is good - but with a narrow foot it's a guessing game as how they'll be in a few weeks time! will likely stick with them nevertheless.

Anyone recommendations for brands that do something similar to this? It's the worn in look I'm after over something heavy and thick leather. These are Wings + Horns for reference

Do a hiroki jump on them and bury them in the back garden for 6 months.

Best place to get a pair of suede Fracap boots re soled and a bit of TLC?

Do Fracap use Vibram soles? They have a "Cristy" sole at the moment but quite fancy a "Ripple" version on them
