Burny Patagonia also make ripstop shorts http://www.endclothing.co.uk/patagonia-ripstop-field-short-57645-bsng.html

Which should be easily available for £50ish as a cheaper alternative (like the Battenwear a lot but that price!)

However If anyone knows the perfect thing, above knee, light ripstop / similar fabric, with decent colours and preferably the incorporated belt / buckle thing for around £50 then holla

I have these, not as nice as EG, Battenwear or any of the Japanese brands, but decent for the money (Waist fit is quite generous)

Don't know if you or Burny are in London… but J.crew Regent street had some (slightly shiny) navy ripstop shorts with a buckle, in there sale section for about £40
