Anyone see 'the crash reel' showing on sky Atlantic this week? Quite a good watch

If the damage is just to the top it should be fine.
I'm not an expert on the gear but it will be most probably be miles better that what you get in a rental shop, so better than what most people learn on.
Seems like a good deal..?
Anyone else who knows more care to comment?

Never skied or boarded before, want to learn though and go away somewhere with the mrs next winter. Which should I learn first, ski or board? Also where's best to pick up some clobber? Not looking to spend a fortune.

Do whichever discipline you fancy most. You don't need any previous knowledge of one to do the other. Learning to snowboard will probably include lots more falling over than skiing.
As for clobber you can get decent bits in TK Maxx for not too much.

tkmaxx usually have a pretty good selection of last seasons stuff as far as clothing go, and for your first trip just hire gear
just learn whatever you want to do, they don't lend themselves to each other

can you skateboard/wakeboard/surf?? might make snowboarding easier. in my eyes i think snowboarding is easier to pickup, but a lot of people disagree. i just find skiing so much more faf with 4 things to look after… i do enjoy both though
