i wish i had the balls to try shit like that
Did you board or ski then how did you get on with the lessons?
going in a few weeks and need some cheap gear. can someone(sure stoney or something) recommend me some gear that i need. never been and got fuck all clue on what to get/where to get.
you need a snowboarding jacket, some snowboarding trousers, some decent sb gloves and a pair of goggles, not cheep but at least the sales are on now, you will all so need some base layers ie: thermals long johns and a top and some mid layers hoodys or sweat shirts, and some snowboarding socks! you can hire boots & board there
for goggles try to get something with a silver/amber (best all round) lens or interchangeable lenses amber for lo light and mirror for bright light (or similar) i bought black anon figment with a silver amber lens they where spot on in all conditions
after having a quick look about the bonfire volt jacket looks like a decent buy on sale at about 50/60 it seems to come in loads of colours, i haven't seen them in the flesh but i'm gona go check them out at that price

ha, dont let your mates take you to the top of a red run the very minute you step off the coach, or you will end up falling down the side of the mountain like i did…
whistler/heavenly/jackson hole/jasper (new hampshire) and any of the lake tahoe resorts! i really do rate lake tahoe, beautiful and the weather was just amazing both times ive been!
going wengen in switz with the fam for 2 weeks for christmas, should be good, 6th time ive been haha getting a bit bored of the resort but the hotel is 4* with a 5* restaurant

I've done a fair few of the Canadian hills and it really depends what you want. Partying = Whistler and Banff (to a point), terrain = Kicking Horse, snow = most of interior BC. I think Banff and the surrounding hills (Sunshine, Lake Louise, Norquay) would give you the best variety of the above if you can handle the bus to/from the hill or renting a car. Also relatively close to Kicking Horse/Fernie/Panorama if you want to stay in a few different places.
Not been to the US before but avoid the East (ice) Coast both there and in Canada. Avoid Presidents day as well wherever you decide to go.
yeah, somewhere thats decent at night. have been stuck in resorts which have either been completely dead in the evening or full of lederhosen-ed up germans with huge 'taches drinking warm beer and singing folk songs…
terrain/snow… obviously would appreciate it, fresh pow and some nice off-piste would be decent but not as important as having a decent time all-round. id rather go somewhere with average terrain and decent parties than vice versa.
whistler is the first thing that came to mind, but isnt it expensive? what are the costs like in america compared to europe?
There isn't so much an 'on piste' 'off piste' thing in NA, it's more of an 'in bounds' and 'out of bounds' so marked runs can be varying difficulties with anything more difficult than a blue usually not pisted.
Banff gives you a good mix if you can stomach the cost of a lift pass. Inghams were doing late deals for 10 nights at under £400 a head last year. It's a cool town and there's loads of places to eat/drink and a couple of places to go all out. There are three mountains which give you a good mix of terrain and snow.
Bottom line, if money is one of your concerns you want Banff on a cheapo deal. You can get a coffee for a buck and a steak with a beer for 12. If you want a top night life, cash is less of a concern and you don't mind being rained on occasionally I'd go to Whistler.
On top of that there's a whole host of US resorts like swede says but I have no experience of them. Nightlife wise Aspen as the best rep but it's not cheap.
