"Banff gives you a good mix if you can stomach the cost of a lift pass. "

Had to cancel last weeks trip due to a death in the family, was thinking of going to banff at the tail end of the season.Whats the cost of lift passes?

Lift pass prices can be seen here http://www.skibig3.com/ or contact the agent you're thinking about booking through.

If you hire a car and buy separate passes for the 3 local hills it can work out a bit cheaper.

Eating and drinking is cheap enough to make up for the expensive pass IMO.

Off to La Plagne next week. Hoping it's as good Les Arcs last year, really enjoyed there but couldn't get a good deal this year.
Missus is selling her Chorus board if anyone is interested? Been used for 7 days in total.

Warm and sunny all across Europe this week. Austria could get rained above 2km but it looks like the Tarentaise will be fine Cool

La Plagne is nice, I'm off to Les Deux Alpes on a university ski trip in 2 weeks, is it a decent resort?

I'll be honest, Deux Alpes is the worst place I've been but purely as there's a lot of drag lifts.
Les Arcs 1st, then Alpe D'Huez.

Was in L2A just before xmas with uni mate. Resort is pretty cool if you're good, but also caters well to beginners/holiday skiers. Loads of sick runs. Nice black mogul on the way back into town, only 30% though so not to hectic. Park is dope too if that's you're thing.

If you want to know specifics just ask.

A mate and I, both students, are off to Tignes Jan 29th-Feb 5th. Paid £283 each for flights with ski luggage + transfer and self catered accommodation. I thought that was a pretty good deal, the accommodation will be tiny but we'll be taking in the apres ski so all we need is a mattress to end up on at the end of the night. Staying in Val Claret. How's the apres ski there? Enough bars/clubs to last a week? Was originally looking at Chamonix cause i've been there with the family but Tignes at that price was hard to resist!

Thats a good price for Tignes. I did a season there a couple of years ago and the apres in Val Claret is pretty good. The best bar there imo is the coloir, English run but the atmosphere is good and the food is great. Have some good Dj's on now and then. Melting pot is your typical cheesy apres ski club for afterwards, need to be pretty hammered to go there. Across the lake in Le Lac Loop bar and Jam bar are pretty good, both owned by two Welsh lads called Jamie and Morgan. Jacks is the main club in Le Lac, again proper cheesy but a good laugh. Le Lac was probably my favourite bit of tignes for Apres, theres a shuttle bus that runs between Val Claret and Le Lac until late-ish. Royal kebabs in Val Claret is awesome after a night out.

A night out in Val d'isere is always good if you don't mind paying 40Euro ish for a taxi back, loads of good places to drink over there, nightlife is better than Tignes.

Make sure you spend plenty of time on Palafour in Le Lac, such a great run!!

Cheers, I'm well looking foreward to it now. Hopefully I'll have a wee go in the park. I'm fairly good overall but have never really done that before.

P.S Anyone got or seen a cheap Da Kine Heli pro for sale?

I'm not too bothered by drag lifts, I know they're slow but it's nice to have a look around. They're a real pain on a board though.

I don't know a thing about Supreme. I think I'll have to stick to North Face, they make some decent bags.
