ordered a pen from a UK store 2nd week of January. They messaged to say they were awaiting stock to arrive from Germany and was currently stuck in customs.

Pen finally due to arrive tomorrow Laughing out loud

Ordered some studio supplies from the UK and had them marked as Commercial Samples – got through no problem with no duty, etc so may be worth asking for certain items to be marked that way when shipping from Europe now.

UPS have probably lost a package coming from Italy - last update to tracking was 'Cleared Customs' on 28 Jan in Milan, nothing since.

Called and they think it's been caught up in the backlog of packages and must've gone missing Cry seller had marked down as a gift, hope that doesn't affect claiming a refund…still got to wait 10 days for UPS to 'investigate' anyway ffs.

Just had my first missed opportunity of a sale on eBay due to Brexit and import fees to Ireland.

I ordered something from Nitty Gritty in Stockholm which was delivered to me by Fedex. NG discounted the tax at their end, which made it quite a good deal, and although the package got held up en route it arrived today with no further documentation. Is that it then or can I expect to have to pay the customs/fees/whatever separately?

FedEx do like to bill after delivery, one to keep an eye on. FWIW I received something from FedEx shipped from EU back in mid January and haven't received or heard anything since delivery.

From a business point of view, this is still an absolute mess.

Looking at our postponed VAT account I can see that some imports included as VAT due have already been charged to us by our shipper (DHL). Plus for those shipments, the VAT amount varies between what is on CHIEF and what we paid DHL.

Lo and behold the invoice just arrived this morning, £43.67 duties and £20 admin fee. Cry Exactly one month after delivery.

Around £200 (invoice was in euros) so I’ve basically been charged 20% vat and £20 admin fee. Wouldn’t have issue if I didn’t pay the local tax from the retailer as it was in the sale anyway.
