Ordered some studio supplies from the UK and had them marked as Commercial Samples – got through no problem with no duty, etc so may be worth asking for certain items to be marked that way when shipping from Europe now.

Just had my first missed opportunity of a sale on eBay due to Brexit and import fees to Ireland.

I ordered something from Nitty Gritty in Stockholm which was delivered to me by Fedex. NG discounted the tax at their end, which made it quite a good deal, and although the package got held up en route it arrived today with no further documentation. Is that it then or can I expect to have to pay the customs/fees/whatever separately?

FedEx do like to bill after delivery, one to keep an eye on. FWIW I received something from FedEx shipped from EU back in mid January and haven't received or heard anything since delivery.

Anyone needing anything from Stockholm I can get and send ( and I assume no fees!! )

From a business point of view, this is still an absolute mess.
Looking at our postponed VAT account I can see that some imports included as VAT due have already been charged to us by our shipper (DHL). Plus for those shipments, the VAT amount varies between what is on CHIEF and what we paid DHL.

How much was the parcel worth?

Around £200 (invoice was in euros) so I’ve basically been charged 20% vat and £20 admin fee. Wouldn’t have issue if I didn’t pay the local tax from the retailer as it was in the sale anyway.
