Also, END completely ignoring emails in relation to the VAT question. 3 emails now and no response as to why they're still charging VAT for orders outside the UK to EU.

Amazon UK charging double VAT as well from UK -> EU, super confusing
You basically pay double tax - item marked at GBP 35.98 (includes UK VAT) gets an additional GBP 8.64 added :/

Surely they will be above the distance selling threshold in the major EU countries?
So will have to register for VAT in those locations.

on that front not all goods have VAT added to them
I just got charged VAT and duty from Aimeleondore.com though they advertise no additional tax (shipping from netherlands), waiting to see what they say about refunding the £55 vat duty £26 and £11 in processing fee

It’s a mess at the minute.
We are set up to deliver goods to UK customers Duty Paid, like we many businesses will do in say Norway or Switzerland. (From EU DC)
Despite this some customers are being contacted by our shipping provider to pay customs and duties.

yep total shit show, team in my office trying to find out exactly how we offer shipping to EU, and can't get straight answer even though every item we ship includes all the relevant documentation for global export…
update from the info we were told duty should not be being charged on goods are already in the EU, only VAT, i think right now its wild west while everyone try's to clarify and update their systems.

Probably it would be a wise move to suppress the urge to shop from small European websites for a while until they get their head around the new rules and adjust their policies and systems. It is a real shame though because I am sure that UK market was quite big for them and they will feel the bite

Bureau is ok because it remains in the customs union with Ireland so they get the best of both worlds. (win win for Ulster!)
The UK has the biggest e-comm market in Europe – what I know is the majority of those sales are to local consumers so not sure if they'll feel the impact apart from possibly less spending power if Brexit tanks the UK economy.
The smaller specialist shops may feel it as Europe definitely has less choice when it comes to stores/ product.
Looks like shipping to my family in the UK or Japan proxies all the way for myself.

END I think has a largely Asian customer base. I think from a conversation before I had with their CTO was that Korea was a big market.

I don't know if it's true from a Royal Mail point of view (i.e. official Royal Mail policy) but a friend in Chile was told in her post office she couldn't send me a Christmas card because Royal Mail weren't accepting international mail.
