Throughout today i've been feeling the beginnings of flu symptoms coming on. Now im going skiing for a week leaving friday so im gonna be fucked off if i feel shit the whole time.

What can you do to stave off this shitness?

Ive been drinking water all day. Proper leah-bettsing it. Think its made me feel a bit better. What else can you do? vit-c pills any good?

1g of vit c with a good complex vit B each day with a good intake of water. (don't take that much vit c without a complex B)

Hot cordial & paracetemol for symptom relief, also hot toddys and the likes of cognac or malt whisky will also help.

Vicks first defence? If it is just 'sniffles' this may stop it becoming something worse. Im not convinced it does anything and it costs £6 or something daft though!

plenty of hot drinks, soups - hot liquid (no homo).

Good diet - veg, home made stews.

don't bother with anything from the chemists.

Dr Stuarts Echinacea Plus tea. Tastes dubious but it works for me. Recommend the effervescent vit C highly.

i dont take everything the chemist says as fact but wouldnt taking paracetamol and ibuprofen cancel each other out?

my 10p worth: lots of water, some of the lemsip max liquid, its got 1000mg of paracetamol in each 20ml dose. and a trip to the steam room.
chicken soup too. its all about chicken stock.

i'm so good at keeping out colds i'm thinking i'm immune to them..

if i feel the symptoms coming on, its a couple of aprin/paracetamol/ibuprofen and lots of water and lots of sleep/lying down in bed rest…. and if you do get it pretty bad something called 4 flu from behind the chemist, just so you aren't blowing your nose all the time.

i've not had a proper cold for a few years now though.

Try not to think about it. Mind over matter and all that. It's not going to cure it miraculously, but worrying about the holiday is going to bring on that flu/cold for sure.
