My dad's working in Stockholm for a bit so im going out to stay at his place at the end of the week.
Anyone been? best places to visit? best shops to look in? not the cheapest place i know but can you pick up Nudies or stuff like that for cheap out there?

Not sure what the weather's like at the moment, but when I was there one June it was beautiful and it makes the difference. I guess because of the shitty winters, the Swedes perk up when it's blue skies. Oh, and Swedes 'pretend' they don't know how to speak English. Most of them can speak it better than us because they've been learning proper grammar since they were waist high.
As a city, Stockholm ranks up there with Prague I reckon, beautiful grouping of boroughs/islands that have their own character.
Check out the old town/Gamla Stan and the bohemian Södermalm area for sure. Only club I can remember was Fredsgaten 12 (I think) which was really the front of an old town hall type building. It was bloody expensive though, but then it is Stockholm.
Check

sodermalm is pretty cool, lots of 'trendy' bars.
even though its poncey as hell, you should check out the spy bar (if you're in stockholm in the first week of sep gimme a pm and i'll pop u on the guestlist).

Ummm I hated Spy Bar, full of middle aged media types, and not a single one of them without a pole up their ass.

yep, its pretencious as hell, pricey, full of twats.. but the women are stunning and its worth going if you've never been before.

I guess I was unlucky then. I was under the impression that was true when I went.
Anyway, illwill will probably have topped himself before he ever gets to there anyway. The quality of women over there is almost sickeningly good.

I've just decided to take the missus there from the 19th-24/25th of May, got some really cheap flights that I can book but I don't have a clue where to stay. Looking for somewhere reasonable as well as places to go, things to do etc. Anyone got any ideas?

I stayed at the Queen's Hotel
http://www.queenshotel.se/ last May with my girlfriend, was fairly inexpensive for a decent location and the rooms were big. Definitely recommend it. Ate at one of the restaurants at the Opera House (not the black tie one, the mid-range one), well worth checking out IMO. I have some more information at home, if you need it PM me

Nice, just checked that out, a lot cheaper than some of the other hotels I was looking at. I'll give you a pm. Anyone know what the weather would be like? (it'd be at the end of June now, not mid May)

If theres anything that i took away from my trip is that you should definately take a day to hire bikes and ride around the area called Djurgarden. Its like a massive island and has some obscenely beautiful houses and buidlings on it.

I'm going this weekend. Is there anything thats cheaper in Stockholm than england?
Also, any excellent things to check out, I'm only going for the bank holiday weekend, staying with a mate who's working out there for a couple months.
Cheers
