A medium in Stone Island would fit like a small wouldn't it? I've always had to size up in it?

It varies. I've had stuff in small and medium that have fitted perfectly

Shadow gear tends to fit slimmer than the mainline stuff IMO. You might be able to get away with M

I always have to size up on SI, while i'm more between sizes in SIS, where i could get away with my regular size

spotted one of them poly cover composite jackets for a decent price and in small, but it looks like it's only the see though cover and the fur lining, that's it. doesn't every one these jackets come with 4 layers??

Depends how old. It used to fit massive.

Looks pretty inoffensive/boring

general rule was size down on older stuff (I'm a modern L and got a v old jacket that is a M, but still a tad baggy round the arm)
