There are shitty pics, but the proper pics i have are on a hard drive i cant access yet as my little girl fucked up the mac book. They are also totally out of order, so sorry about that. We bought a 2 bed detached bungalow, totally run down but in a nice area with a garden and potential. The plan was to not do it up to our tastes but to extend and improve to appeal to maximise profit and make it into a sellable family home with decent schools around. We lifted the roof, raised the walls a metre and a half all the way round and added 3 beds, 2 baths and a walk in wardrobe upstairs. We lived downstaors while they did this off scaffold. Then we lived upstairs while they knocked a wall out downstairs, and full refurb. Its basically like new now. Its not quote finished, and the pics are not up to date but it gives you an idea. Its been extended, with loft, full rewire, replumb, re plaster, new stairs, roof, re rendered in a silicone based render, 3 baths, utility, new staircase, gallaried landing. new floor, windowows, doors and bifold. The walk in wardrobe is good as it goes back about 1/5 metres with storage behind and extra rails for out of season gear. The blokes who did it are Carpenters and hand built most of it. Didnt know the builders. Its a Lottery but we were really pleased with them. Still to finish are front drive, external lights, boundaries and a 3 metre deck off the rear bifold. Will prob live here for a year, move it on and go again.

Yeah, that’s what we have wood downstairs, carpet up. Blinds are just off the Velux website. Anyone know anywhere doing the plantation type shutters cheap ?

my place has bedrooms downstairs and kitchen/living room upstairs (it's a maisonette) so have this reversed. Otherwise i 100% agree

I’m afraid plantation shutters are never that cheap as they usually have to be custom made/fitted to size.

Looks great!
We made the mistake of having carpets up and downstairs. Only been in just over 2 years but we’re replacing downstairs with wood as they constantly look dirty - especially with the dog
