Just taken my Beam Plus jacket out of storage for the warmer weather and it seems to have developed a discolouration. It’s 100% nylon and I’ve had it a couple of years, but not noticed it before. Anyone else experienced this?

Looking for something lightweight to replace this in nylon. Any recommendations? Thinking maybe SI as they do a good selection of jackets in this material. Anywhere else I should be looking?

Thanks toin.

Agreed, from the image it does look alright. However it’s not consistent like say when leather develops a patina, or fades in denim. One sleeve has it, the other doesn’t. Also some streaks on the back as well, can’t work out how it’s occurred.

I’m probably going to go for a navy nylon jacket this time so hopefully this won’t happen again.

Thanks all, certainly hadn’t written it off, just odd that it would suddenly go like that.

Nah, but if I grab a spring bracket this year that'll be it alright.

I've seen denim jackets and chore coats left out in the sun (whether on a rooftop or in a field) for months on end that develop interesting uneven fades. Maybe you could crumple/fold yours up and leave it on your dash board to play on with the effect your jacket has got? Laughing out loud
