If any fukers happen to be in the US (they don't ship internationally) or has a hookup you can get 30% off Garrett Leight frames (the son of the founder of Oliver Peoples) by using the code SORRYIVH0T.

Hey Andy, how does the quality of Cutler & Gross glasses compare to the price you pay? What brands are they comparable to? Is there a difference between their normal and vintage range?

Cheers in advance.

I have a pair of Dita Mach One. Real nice, sturdy and heavyweight but the aluminium nose pads are causing a lot of pain. After a few hours wear I couldn't take it any more.

Is it possible to swap them out for standard rubber pads? Could I take this to any opticians to do for me?

thanks in advance

Like any successful / desirable brand you're paying a bit for the name but they're very good quality. I'm not sure if there's a difference between the quality of the "vintage" and new frames, I'm pretty sure they're all made in the same factory. It's difficult to compare them to other brands as their history and heritage is pretty unique.

Absolutely. Any decent independent optician should be able to do it, or you could do it yourself by buying some from somewhere like nosepads.co.uk (if you're in the UK).

Well I took them to Vision Express and with all their tools they couldn't get the nose pads off. I was going to try myself but if they couldn't then I've got no chance. Will try an independent that stocks Dita (Glimpse in Birmingham), otherwise I think I have to look for stick on Pads.

Andy, know much about these guys? Never heard of'em before. Wondering if they're worth the price tag as they have some decent shapes and colours https://www.archibaldlondon.com

On the hunt for a new pair of optical glasses. Any recommendations on best stockists in London to find high quality / well made glasses?

So far on the list…

Eye Company (Soho)
Eye Place (Fitzrovia)
CouCo (Boxpark)
36 Opticians (Knightsbridge) - heard good for vintage frames?

Cutler & Gross
Eyediology
Icon
Mallon+Taub
Roger Pope

Plus another vote for the Eye Company.
