Anywhere on High street you can just pop in for repairs? Basic stuff like replacement nose pad and a tighten up?

Decent independent opticians should be able to do that.

Jules. They had the Willem reduced too but I think they may have been a bit too out there for. I really like the Hitchcock, Ringo and Seberg.

The company that makes them is very good (they've manufactured for a couple of my clients). Incidentally the models are named after employees of the company.

Andy. Can you recommend any brands similar to JMM? I have just found Max Pittion and Lunetterie Generale, but wondered if there are any in that sort of style?

Cheers!

A bit of a weird mix but have a look at Eyevan, Mr Leight, Massada, Yellows Plus, Barton Perreira and Black Eyewear.

If you can wait a couple of days (!) there's a new Irish brand launching called Pewpols that may have the kind of thing you're looking for.

Cheers Andy. Will have a look! Pewpols looks interesting.

Do they vary in quality the brands you mentioned? I remember you saying the quality of JMM was amazing, but I am wary that some brands would be selling similar product but may not have the same quality, machining etc. If I can find the right price for something I like then it's not an issue, I just would rather not pay over the odds for something that is more brand than quality.

It can be difficult to compare the quality directly, and probably better that I don't go into it too much on a public forum, but all of those are good quality (although JMM will probably be the best out of them).

With those particular companies I don't think you'd be paying for brand over quality. The JJM frames have a lot of extra detailing which incur a tooling cost in the factory and minimum orders for custom components to be met, hence why they are more expensive than a lot of other frames.

Something exactly like, or very close to, New Wayfarers but without all the detracting clutter and branding, a nicer (black) acetate, for a Ray-Ban price…

Any insights on this?

Tens isn't quite what i'm after. Was thinking of something a bit more classic and low key.

These are spot on, thanks Swede. They do look a bit bigger than New Wayfarers, no? More like regular ones. Do they angle forwards a bit?

Not too much. They are definitely chunkier. I have the Type 01's and they have lasted well after 4 + years.
