People have been going there for years that's why they've got two shops and are constantly busy? That being said Josh at kids love ink east is nowhere near as well known as he should be and will blow up in the next couple of years guaranteed

It won't work, it's going to hurt, man-up and get on with it.
It's supposed to settle you down and take the edge off a bit, it will hurt like a bitch anyway but it's better than nothing!
It might work, one thing I've actually tested is not drinking alcohol for 2 days before hand. Going for a tattoo the day after drinking my skin was more sensitive and I bled more. It wasn't a huge difference but it was something.

Yeah I won't be drinking for a few days before, it defo makes you bleed more, can't say I've noticed it make my skin more sensitive but it probably does, I usualy take a couple of ibuprofen before I go, but didn't bother on the last one as it was the top of my bicep, and it hurt more than the inside of my biceps
Gawkrodger - They're all sound guys and need to become big players like Frith Street and Family Business etc. I'm almost glad they're a little more 'underground' though, means they get people going there for their work opposed to just for their name!
