in terms of actual waterproof rather than just something with a repellant finish these are good but obviously £££ and id question in real daily use outside of when its shitting it down how nice wearing full waterproof pants is

mainline Arc’teryx is also good and styling is still quite nice as branding is subtle

all these are 100%nylon so will be quite swishy

I grabbed a pair of arcteryx zeta lt pants to give my german army coveralls a pause here and there. they're pretty damn great with the c-knit backing. There's a zeta sl pant coming for spring 2019 that has paclite..

In what scenario are your trousers getting wet?

Only on Fuk would you immediately look to 500 quid trews to solve the problem rather than a 20 quid umbrella.

To be fair umbrellas are terrible, never got on with the awkward fucking things.

150 is my absolute max, I don't want proper shell gortex, repellent coating is fine, they've got to be comfy for every day wear I just want abit of extra protection from the wind and rain.
Thinking about surplus army pants but still can't find anything.

if you just want a repellant coating then to be honest you could just coat your existing pants in a wash in dwr from an outdoor shop to be honest.

anything that just has a coating on it will only give a short term (10-20 min in steady rain) fix and after that it will just wet out especially if its a natural fabric and would need re coating quite regularly to keep that performance. I dont know but i would expect Raphas pants come with this kind of finish as standard, but it does not state it on site so would need to check.

Houdini trousers are overlooked. I've got some MTM Thrill Twill's, they have a nice cut but are a bit light weight. Their discontinued MTM Motion Light were way too light weight.
The Skiffer's look good.
