Best place to sell vinyl in London?

I have 100-200 to sell (mostly 60+70s pop/rock and 90s/early 2000s hip hop) and don't want to sell individually on ebay or discogs

Suggestions so far; reckless records soho and Vinyl pimp

Any other suggestions?

@southpaw
Reckless or Vinyl Pimp is you. Or Music & Goods Exchange in Notting Hill - unfortunately the one in Soho closed last year, so gone are the days of running between them and Reckless to see who can give you the better rate.

Alan's in East Finchley would be another option - though might gouge you a bit on value.
Also Zen in Tottenham may take your hip-hop off you, but unlikely to touch the rock/pop stuff unless you've got some soul etc in there.

Thanks for confirming bigspoon

Seventyfour - I'll send you a list in a few weeks when I've sorted… there's a bit of Nas, etc, and a fair bit of Stones Throw, Def jux, fondle em records etc

you will make 3-4 times the money if u make packages of 10 matching records and sell this on the bay…a store will offer u normally 150-200 quid on a collection in this size. when you are lazy i'd recommend to double check what you have with ended listings. i'm sure you have 10 +/- records who still sell regulary for 15-20…just sell them infividually and bring the rest to the store.

https://www.discogs.com/

Check for sale / sold prices for your lot, stuff worth cash sell on there, stuff worth pennies give to charity shops for diggers delights.

^Notting Hill only now unfortunately Carl. Camden one closed a few years ago, and Soho followed suit last year.

A real shame - got an untold number of bargains in the Soho store in particular.

After years of thinking about it, I finally bagged a phono amp but need a decent turntable now (no dj). This new vinyl adventure will probably end up costing me my marriage but the itch needs to be scratched so whatever Smiling

Any suggestions for turntables around the 1000 quid mark?

And any of you looking to shift some vinyl to get me started? Eye-wink

Guess I'm a bit biased but

https://homeavdirect.co.uk/technics-sl-1210-mk7-direct-drive-dj-turntable

In bog standard form it's a top quality turntable, particularly at that price, that'll last you a life time. A couple of simple upgrades would be to swap out the cartridge and get some isolation feet. If you want to keep going, upgrade the cables, switch to a straight tone etc.

Yeah I was wondering about belt drive or DD. A friend has a MK2 deck that's been rewired and serviced for sale. I was thinking about the Rega p3 or a second hand p6 though…..won't be mixing or anything but don't want too much fuss either so a bit undecided….
