no 'fuker' will be stupid enuff to fall for it, and 'fuk' will of made a juicy free tenner towards the beautiful and superbly working new server. Cool

calm down dear, nothing to do with server that some good long-term fuk'ers have contributed to. it was a different issue, fuses, plugs, regular xmas things…

Alright Darko, we had two naive members, who have learnt by their own mistakes now. Laughing out loud
surely neither of them would do it again would they?

Puzzled anyone can still view and post in all forums, but only goldens can sell stuff

No offence, and not meaning to cause beef but you might as well just go the whole hog and say you need to pay a tenner to view/post/subscribe to FUK.

Ok, point taken cos it seems that all the golden people are clearly in favour of it, so I suppose its just a matter of opinion really, but since you said the rules were still being formulated as yet, I wanted to raise the issue as I was surprised no one else had.

Happy new year.

probaly not. however, sometimes some people are so intelligent they lose all concept of common sense.

in regards to this debate:

pay ya tenner to sell goods or dont sell.. jeez!

Surely non goldens can get around the non selling by posting a hypothetical thread in the fashion section anyway.
The new rules make the place cleaner.

I understand exactly where you are coming from - i had to pay my tenner as more of a joining fee, If you aint got a golden jimmie thing then you will not get taken seriously.

I feel that like yourself if oyu are a lurker and only post in the classified section why should you contribute?

I think you need to be careful with the rules/Jimmys. It might very well end up isolating new users.
I'm sure that the classifides section (my idea by the way) has brought a lot of traffic to the site which could just end up being lost.
On another note, if an individual wants to pay money towards a a new website server, then all well and good..but there is an underlying 'bullying' approach to humiliate or force people to pay the money.
Also, if the site ever makes money, will it be shared with the golden jimmy members, as they had paid to keep it going?
I'm not hating, but you need to make sure you dont disapear up your own arses.

The way I see it is this. £10 to list stuff on here isn't much, especially if you're earning a slight profit from selling gear. I had no complaints contributing as I've shifted a lot of stuff on this forum.

Now you can scream and yell and say, well there are other forums which offer this service and it's free. Well let's see, there's Superfuture, where most people are based in USA and various parts in Asia. There's ISS and Bapetalk, again most members on there are based in the USA. Sneakerfreaker which is based in Aus oh and there's kicksxchange, which lets face it, is pretty dead. Do you really want to go through the hassle of sending stuff abroad and going through all this paypal business? When you can simply use a forum like fuk which has most of its members based within the UK and Europe itself. Where you can list things and accept payment via bank transfer and cheques without being penalised or charged (ala ebay).

I think the amount of money and hassle you have saved listing stuff here for sale and having successful transactions go through, is well worth ten bob.

End of day, you can still use the classifieds to buy stuff, if you want to sell, just contribute £10 for a life long subscription. It isn't asking much is it?

Because we don't really want those people here, so if they're obstinate about staying, we'll charge more to exhort them.

wordage, who is gona be selling anything with a combined total of less than 20 odd quid anyway? its not as if we are chargeing a tenner to trade football stickers or marbles, a majority of the classifieds adds on here add up to at least a tonne so a tenner aint really pushin it is it?

ick.

people selling stuff in classifieds are making money via this site. FACT. invariably they're not making profits - they're just getting a little cash for something they own to pay the bills.

why the fuck is it so difficult for anybody to accept that the site owners may wish to do the same.

so how do people on supefuture and kicksexchange etc pay the bills? (genuine question)

This thing of 'expensive servers' yet there are mega busy american sites such as ISS which dont charge a penny / cent to post sale threads….

Just a genuine question cos I never heard of being charged to pay for a website forum servers.

it's all here http://www.fuk.co.uk/threads/can_anyone_spare_a_tenner_to_help_fund_a_new_server

there are plenty of examples of forums having a paid-for element, eg. somethingawful forums who take all ads away for a $10 sub
