Crowds in Brum are good in my opinion usually, Rainbow has fairly relaxed security and I have never seen any proper trouble. Things like circo loco are always going to attract Essex/deep house types. The whole hot creations vibe parties are to be avoided for the amount of dickheads that go. Just hope it doesn't go like UKG (which I never witnesses) that people are now making obvious comparisons with.

Just have to be more selective with nights now, although thats been the case for the last 18 months or so. Have never had a problem with the rude boys turning up house nights, liked it if anything, its always nice to have a more diverse crowd. After all one of the best things about house is that it brings people together. Will never go the same way as grime imo

True, that is one of the best things about Birmingham raves. The mix of people, little bit of edge but all about having a good time. Basically it is not a race/region thing it is an attitude thing.

Some mates of mine did a night with XDB and Jane Fitz at Spotlight, just round the corner from the Rainbow last night. Despite all the shit in the area they said it was one if the best nights they've done there - nice crowd and everything. Loads of dodgy people around Digbeth though.

I have nothing against anyone who wants to go to a club night, whether they be rude boy, nan kid or any other. But if you're taking a gun then it's a different story.

Yeah. Guns are usually a bad thing.

One of my friends went last night, said it was pretty bad. Same shit, different scene.

There's some momentum building in rumours that the Warehouse Project is to move to the Mayfield Depot next to Piccadilly Station. Would be amazing if true judging by the recent Massive Attack gig.

Why? So they can cram even more people into a venue and extend their exclusivity hold on the acts and the city.

Its ridiculous how fast WHP tickets sell out. They clearly want a bigger venue for more £, dont blame them but it will suffer as an event and as Cov says wont be good for the city.
