Never seen Derrick May, I'd be up for that if I wasn't off to Warehouse Project the night after. Is that Beaver Works any good or is it just a horrible warehouse dump like Victoria Works?

i've not been to the victoria works, but it is a great venue, first room is like a youth club air hoocky and video games Laughing out loud the main room as been done out a bit and the basement is a dingy warehouse basement Cool
sack Hawtin off he's a dick, Makaton and 65d playing together for the first time will be amazing aswell

main room

ftr: warehouse project is a horrible underground carpark dump

Beaver Works looks right up my street! Hawtin is tomorrow night, he is a dick but he's fucking quality live. Been to a few Warehouse Project's I quite like the venue although it is a bit of a khazi. The night I'm off to on 7th Novemeber is Dubfire, Adam Beyer, Claude Von Stroke, Jamie Jones, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Seth Troxler and Simon Baker. That's a proper quality lineup there.

Yeah, smagghe was one half of black strobe. They split a few years back, but are meant to be reforming.

anyone happen to catch villalobos's set saturday night?
we were messing around bouncing some ideas off one another at panorama bar a couple weeks ago, as by then there wasn't too much going on in terms of birds at that point. one of the fellows had this on his deck (on the kompakt total 10 comp)-

i started fucking around with it interchanging it with some splices of trumpet i got off a live miles davis performance from parc de la villette in the 70's. letting em go in and out for a bit then throwing in ricardo's fizheuer fieheuer pt.1a for a treble horn ensemble. the man himself was capturing it and was fairly taken by it. he said he was going to include it in his set at the anniversary party. anybody catch it, or was he just feeding me a line? some bird near me was crying when villalobos came on ha ha

was chatting to some spandish girl in the smoking area who came just to see villalobos and was leaving straight away after. he was good but the hype around him kinda took the shine off it a little bit. was no room to dance from 10-11am in room 1

here's his intro from his first set

Ricardo Villalobos @ Fabric's 10th Birthday, Room 1 (18th Oct 09, Part 1);

seemed to take about 25 mins before it got proper jackin

might check bugz in the attic out.
i do like east village and they tend to have a bit more of a mature policy when it comes to the nights they put on.

as opposed to people who go out to get gal, have a drink, mingle, listen to tunes, boogie and not say shit like.. villalobos was off his face mayn!! did you see when he was trying to mix that choon.. he was chewin' his own face off!
i do like some of his sets, i just dont hold a beacon up to him like the current ket kids do.
