cheesy as hell but i like aeroplane for their dj sets and remixes. seen them live and they were cheese but good. try and grab the aeroplane resident advisor podcast if you can find it. also todd terje, prins thomas (resident advisor mix is also good), lindstrom, the revenge. some other djs play bits and pieces mixed in with more disco and house too like daniel wang, rub-n-tug, pilooski, house of house…

also check out disco delicious blog for some tracks.

*edit* oh yeh, disco bloodbath for a clubnight? i dunno. not based in london so i don't get out as much to these nights as i should

Good stuff man, I personally rate Aeroplane as i think their variety of remixes are top notch. Todd Terje and all the other Scandinavians smash it and i suppose are the face of new disco, alongside disco bloodbath for the UK. Im actually thinking about booking the revenge to play as i really like the cross over into more deep house/techno based stuff. U heard of Mark E? Tempo is damn slow, but the groove is sick.

Mark E - Slave 1;

Also Floating points stuff is awesome. Saw Fourtet drop this on Halloween.

Ok so I'm kind of getting into deep house, but have no idea where to start, I fucking HATE minimal, fidget etc (villalobos can go screw himself), but really starting to get interested in deep house stuff through the experimental dubstep (or whatever the hell you want to call it) end of things. Good artists to start looking at? Floating points ftw btw.

that floating points tune is probably my favourite track of the year along with this

TENSNAKE - HOLDING BACK MY LOVE;

craig smith who's involved with the revenge, 6th borough project and the glasgow scene in general are smashing it in the edits/nu disco field.. think mark e is part of that scene too. check the ooft blog http://ooft.blogspot.com/ - think one of the revenge runs that blog, this mix from 6th borough project from last year is one of my favourites of all time, proper edits and soulful disco - https://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid;=TTdIZm1RUzg4NVd4dnc9PQ

ilija rudman gets a lot of love in that scene, but i haven't been a fan of a lot of his releases except for this one. love a good piano bass line.

aeroplane's sound is full on warm disco, but dj wise i wasn't that impressed.. craig smith from 6th borough is amazing dj wise, you can tell he knows his shit when you hear a set from him.. i also really like ray mang's sets and edits. i saw him play some pub in shoreditch a few months back and it was heavy.

i can talk all day about nu disco/edits scene but i'm the only one of my circle of friends who's into it so it's pretty hard to rope people into going up to the ivy in glasgow for a night of modern disco when they're not really into that type of music.

Love the 7th heaven sample in that ten snake song.

Gwen Guthrie - Seventh Heaven (Larry Levan remix);

Horse meat disco is pretty good, went to them when they were in Berlin. Also Rub n Tug are worth checking out

John Daly also making some good deep house:

Cheers for the recommendations, will check the blogs etc. I do find that with nu-disco and related genres that its the subtle edits, dub mixes remixes that more important/played out more than the originals. I don't think I own a single Crazy P track that hasn't been edited in some kind of way. Is this the same in any other genre?

@ Duffman, try checking out Beatport and Juno's charts and playlist for a start and if you like some of the stuff, check out similar labels, leading to blogs and that. I really like Will Saul's beatport playlist from a couple of weeks ago, it starts with Joy Orbison's kind of sound and moves into Deep House.
