cheesy as hell but i like aeroplane for their dj sets and remixes. seen them live and they were cheese but good. try and grab the aeroplane resident advisor podcast if you can find it. also todd terje, prins thomas (resident advisor mix is also good), lindstrom, the revenge. some other djs play bits and pieces mixed in with more disco and house too like daniel wang, rub-n-tug, pilooski, house of house…
also check out disco delicious blog for some tracks.
*edit* oh yeh, disco bloodbath for a clubnight? i dunno. not based in london so i don't get out as much to these nights as i should
ah i've not been to a club night of that stuff really, just seen some djs. prob some more people on here more into it than me. guess horse meat disco probably play a lot of that kind of stuff?
Good stuff man, I personally rate Aeroplane as i think their variety of remixes are top notch. Todd Terje and all the other Scandinavians smash it and i suppose are the face of new disco, alongside disco bloodbath for the UK. Im actually thinking about booking the revenge to play as i really like the cross over into more deep house/techno based stuff. U heard of Mark E? Tempo is damn slow, but the groove is sick.Mark E - Slave 1
Also Floating points stuff is awesome. Saw Fourtet drop this on Halloween.Floating Points - Vacuum Boogie
that floating points tune is probably my favourite track of the year along with thisTENSNAKE - HOLDING BACK MY LOVE
craig smith who's involved with the revenge, 6th borough project and the glasgow scene in general are smashing it in the edits/nu disco field.. think mark e is part of that scene too. check the ooft blog http://ooft.blogspot.com/
- think one of the revenge runs that blog, this mix from 6th borough project from last year is one of my favourites of all time, proper edits and soulful disco - https://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid;=TTdIZm1RUzg4NVd4dnc9PQ
ilija rudman gets a lot of love in that scene, but i haven't been a fan of a lot of his releases except for this one. love a good piano bass line.http://www.juno.co.uk/ppps/products/365768-01.htm
aeroplane's sound is full on warm disco, but dj wise i wasn't that impressed.. craig smith from 6th borough is amazing dj wise, you can tell he knows his shit when you hear a set from him.. i also really like ray mang's sets and edits. i saw him play some pub in shoreditch a few months back and it was heavy.
i can talk all day about nu disco/edits scene but i'm the only one of my circle of friends who's into it so it's pretty hard to rope people into going up to the ivy in glasgow for a night of modern disco when they're not really into that type of music.
