Washing your jeans will extend their life.
Dirt breaks down the cotton fibres. Removing dirt often reveals fading you never knew existed.
Sure, hang off a few months first to break them in. Never wash? Wait a year? They are made of cotton and will just fall apart. What is the point of getting your jeans to such a great point for them to be unwearable?

Just wash your jeans like a normal person.

I guess it depends on how you use them. I had a pair that i did almost nothing physical in, never cycled in them, never wore them out to clubs, literally just wore them when i was chilling. Didnt wash them for around 6 months and they look great and the crotch never blew out. IIRC its sweat that breaks down the cotton, not dirt? So if your a sweaty fucker that likes to cycle in raw denim and lives in a hot country then its probably more applicable.

True, my advice is really for actual days of wear rather than proscribing a fixed period of time.
If you just wear them to sit around at the weekend then - sure - you can hang off washing them for much longer.

Yeah, if you wear them hard you have to wash them regularly. How would you recommend washing raw jeans if your trying to keep that raw denim look?

I rarely/don't wash mine because I want to keep them deep denim blue, not really into fades

Dont mind them on some pairs, but i like to keep a couple of pairs looking raw too. Generally just soak them in the bath tub in mildly warm water with a little woolite. Thought Danny might have some insider knowledge though!

I have a few pairs that have the perfect color and the perfect amount of baginess, but need to be freshen up, not sure I want to bath them, thought that denim fresh might make them dece again

Just taken a punt on the Levis Vintage 1962 - 551 - anyone got an experience of them? Look alright in the photos; supposed to be the predecessor to the 505.
