———————————————————————————-

Acne - fit true to size

APC New Standards -size down 2 or even 3 from true waist size

APC New Cures - size down 1 or 2 from true waist size

April 77 - size down 1 or 2 from true waist size

Dior raw 19s and 21s - have vanity sizing and are labelled as two sizes smaller than actual size

Edwin Nashvilles - size down 1" - quite a different fit to most jeans out there though (massive rise, loose at thigh and comparitively tapered at the leg).

Julian Red - fit small, so maybe true to size on raw and possibly size up on non raws

Nudies - size down 1 or 2

Raf by Raf - true

Ring - true

Can anyone recommend some decent denim for me?

I have a pair of APC Rescue which are a perfect fit but they're a bit heavy (14oz I believe) and I'm looking for something a bit lighter in weight. Preferably raw, or failing that a dark wash. I want a straight cut but they have to be roomy in the thigh.

Is Gap selvedge any good? And at 13oz am I likely to notice the difference compared to the Rescues?

Think APCs are around 12oz mate, some of the lightest jeans around

Am thinking of purchasing some new Nudie Grim Tim's from eBay (W30 L30), seller sent me a picture of measuring tape straight across at the top of the waist and clearly shows its just over 15 inches which is the same measurements for my other jeans, but just wanted to get peoples opinion on here before i pull the trigger, so, are they true to size or size down??

You've the exact waist measurement which is the same as the rest of your jeans, why would you be worried? If you're really concerned there's bound to be somewhere stocking Nudies nearby, go and try a pair on, but I reckon they'll be grand.

Yea, just wanted to make 100% sure though, just me being overly fussy probably…

They fit tts in my experience, shame the quality has gone down and the price has gone up, used to get selvage grim tims for 80 quid or so.

As LFC said APC'S are about 12oz, but you wouldn't be able to notice a difference in weight or thickness between 12 and 13, couple of oz difference is pretty much negligible.

Never seen or wore them gap jeans, but remember noble saying he rates them. Take a look at unbranded, UB301, good quality, apparently made in the same factory as APC, in Macau and theyre much cheaper. If your a 33-34" waist PM Brew he had a couple of pairs he didn't get on with that he got from TK for £20 that he was trying to shift.

Unbranded are decent quality for the money, especially discounted, but I thought they were quite a bit heavier than APCs? Could be wrong though.

edit: getting confused as they do a 21oz version, normal range is 14.5.

Yeah standard is 14.5, and they also do an 11oz stretch and 13oz in some.

Thanks for the suggestions but those UB301 are slimmer in the thigh than my Rescues so won't fit unfortunately.

Do the unbranded stretch much? I'm a 34 in nudie, will I get away with a 32?

I got them ub201's they stretch a little. Measurements on the site were well off, I bought a 32 based on the site saying the waist was 34 on the 32 and it measured bang on 32 so they're useless to me now. Let me know if they would be any good for you.

Anyone interested in some Lee 101 selvedge? Brand new with tags - Got these recently but they're too short:

http://www.oipolloi.com/lee-101-z-1375oz-dry-kaihara-denim

They're tagged a 32x32 but would suit a 32x30 better - they only have a 31" inseam so you can't do turnups if you're a true 32 leg. Quality pair of jeans. After £80 including delivery if anyone wants them?

I highly recommend them for price / quality / range of fit / weight.

They don't stretch much, on that basis I would say go true but I did find some variation in sizing (eg two pairs of 32w fitted a little different). Ideally go to Son of a Stag or somewhere with a lot of stock and try them on.
