———————————————————————————-

Acne - fit true to size

APC New Standards -size down 2 or even 3 from true waist size

APC New Cures - size down 1 or 2 from true waist size

April 77 - size down 1 or 2 from true waist size

Dior raw 19s and 21s - have vanity sizing and are labelled as two sizes smaller than actual size

Edwin Nashvilles - size down 1" - quite a different fit to most jeans out there though (massive rise, loose at thigh and comparitively tapered at the leg).

Julian Red - fit small, so maybe true to size on raw and possibly size up on non raws

Nudies - size down 1 or 2

Raf by Raf - true

Ring - true

When tapering jeans that have selvedge, what's the rule of thumb? Is it to taper from Inside leg or from the outside leg? I got some jeans that i want tapered from thigh down to hem.

Will be better on the outside but this will make the selvedge spread so wont look good turned up. Unless you are Marlon Brando Eye-wink

don't taper from the selvage - just made that mistake on a pair of sammies. Not only will you have a wide selvage but the fade lines down the outside of the leg will look awful running out. I've cut mine back and now need to try and get the edges overlocked.

I think there are limits to how much can be done on the inseam though. I guess if its the thigh down you want them in quite a lot? Best to just ask whoever you are doing it with, but I know Denim Doc wont generally do the inseam.

What you on about? Denim Dr always does the inseam to save the selvedge if you ask him to. If you want it done on the outside he'll do that and cut the selvedge back. Had it done both ways about 10 times. Inseam, you will lose an inch on the thigh measurement, maybe more depending how much you want them tapered.

Just going on what he told me for the APC's I had done, but this was a few years ago. Specifically wouldn't do it from the inseam despite me asking for this.

Thanks for the replies, going to talk to the guys at Atelier and see what they recommend, but as I want the thigh tapered and knee it seems that it will be best to go for the inseam.

Denim Doc will do the inseam usually. He just did a pair of Japan blues for me that way and did a great job, as usual.

The reason he won't do some jeans, especially APC petit standards that way is because of the low rise. Tapering on the inseam means you lose a bit off the rise. If the rise is already low, he won't do it if it's likely to make it so short they're unwearable

Hi everyone,

I'm in the market for good quality mens denim skinny jeans preferably 100% cotton. At the moment I currently own 1 pair of topman vintage skinny which I wear quite often but are now showing signs of prolonged use, as well as 1 set of Levi's 510s which fit perfect on my skinny legs but have a loose waistband, like the bit at the back hangs out whereas the front where the button and fly are fits perfect. The rest of my denims are H&M jeans which quite frankly don't cut the mustard.

I've found with a number of denims I've tried over the past few months that they might fit great on the leg and thigh regions but will be very loose on the waistband which kind of annoys me.

My legs are quite skinny but I avoid the "super skinny" type jeans since they just make my legs look even thinner Sad

I'm a big fan of the topman vintage fit, perfect on my legs, thighs and waist. My size is 30x34 so if you know of any good denims which are of a similar fit please shout up Smiling

Thanks
