Official thread sponsor: The Denim Doctor. First aid for your old denim.

———————————————————————————-

Acne - fit true to size

APC New Standards -size down 2 or even 3 from true waist size

APC New Cures - size down 1 or 2 from true waist size

April 77 - size down 1 or 2 from true waist size

Dior raw 19s and 21s - have vanity sizing and are labelled as two sizes smaller than actual size

Edwin Nashvilles - size down 1" - quite a different fit to most jeans out there though (massive rise, loose at thigh and comparitively tapered at the leg).

Julian Red - fit small, so maybe true to size on raw and possibly size up on non raws

Nudies - size down 1 or 2

Raf by Raf - true

Ring - true

Need to get some Edwins tapered a bit at the leg opening (or the knee down)

The denim doctor says you have to spread the selvedge to do it which im not keen on, can it not be done from the inside seam?

Anyone had their selvedge tapered without spreading the selvedge seam?

Yes it can be done but needs to be done on the inside leg so you will lose some thigh room.

I asked the denim doc to taper from the inseam on two pairs of jeans, which he agreed to do. Both times they came back with the selvedge spread. I'd use someone else personally.

Looking for some slim raw denim.

considering another pair of Vis 04, but Momotaro and Pure Blue Japan have also caught my eye. Any advice/recommendations on wash/fit?

I've been impressed with my Hiut selvedge raw SlimR, but more tapered compared to Vis 04. Denim is nice and quality is good. Free repairs for life too

Yeah, I was a bit sceptical because of how hard they push the story, but decided to give them a try and happy so far, feel really well made, good materials and I like the fit. Not washed yet

Any recommendations for clean black skinny denim? Not a fan of new Acne range - preferred the older fits but they no longer sell these.

Very. Not too low rise though so you can actually keep stuff in your pockets.

Is there still interest in battered APC denim? Got New Standards in 31 that need another repair and I can’t be bothered with it.

Son of a stag IMO - I understand they now can also do tapering and other alterations plus chain stitch embroidery.

Whats happened to evisu?
They dont have a London store any more and looking on their website, all their stuff looks like fake knockoffs!!
Used to love that brand and was looking for a pair for old times sake but now impressed with what I saw
