Official thread sponsor: The Denim Doctor. First aid for your old denim.

———————————————————————————-

Acne - fit true to size

APC New Standards -size down 2 or even 3 from true waist size

APC New Cures - size down 1 or 2 from true waist size

April 77 - size down 1 or 2 from true waist size

Dior raw 19s and 21s - have vanity sizing and are labelled as two sizes smaller than actual size

Edwin Nashvilles - size down 1" - quite a different fit to most jeans out there though (massive rise, loose at thigh and comparitively tapered at the leg).

Julian Red - fit small, so maybe true to size on raw and possibly size up on non raws

Nudies - size down 1 or 2

Raf by Raf - true

Ring - true

Been rocking mine for a year now

Is the dry cleaners best?

Fill the Bath with warm water, add a small amount of detergent preferably a denim specific detergent, emerse jeans in water and rock back and forth and leave to soak for 1-2 hours, rinse with shower, hang dry.

White Vinegar can allegedly be used to 'set' the denim dye in. Tried it, with no ill-effects, but not sure it did anything…

Definitely better in bath than machine

Yeah they should smell fine after a soak with some gentle detergent or woolite black if that's the issue.

I’m guessing I can put this question here.

I have an raw indigo jacket and the bleed all over the inside is really bad.
Anything not blue under it is practically ruined.

Anyone came across similar problems?
And solutions.

Don’t really want to.
Kind of defeats the object of getting a nice fade/fit.

I might have no choice but I’ll be pissed off.

one soak or a wash for that matter really won't hurt fades in the long run.

Cheers guys.
I’ll give it a soak in the bath or it’s unwearable.

My fingers go blue buttoning up ffs.

Time to fuck Edwin off; so fed up with the lack of consistency in their ED-55's fit. Must have 8 pairs and every one is different (albeit slightly but a FUK'er is obviously gonna notice!). Changed from APC to Edwin about 3 years ago but they've deffo gone downhill.

I’ve found them hellish lately too. The rainbow fabric in particular is all over the place. Thankfully they are going back to Japanese fabric only soon, not sure how much that will improve will pattern cutting and shape (allowing for wash shrinkage) though.

Need a repair/reinforcement on a pair around the crotch area - is Denim Doctor still the go-to guy for this kinda stuff? Or somewhere else?

anyone got Kojima Jeans? Their basic painters and baker pants are made in Japan and look like what I'm looking for. Solid quality?
