Official thread sponsor: The Denim Doctor. First aid for your old denim.

———————————————————————————-

Acne - fit true to size

APC New Standards -size down 2 or even 3 from true waist size

APC New Cures - size down 1 or 2 from true waist size

April 77 - size down 1 or 2 from true waist size

Dior raw 19s and 21s - have vanity sizing and are labelled as two sizes smaller than actual size

Edwin Nashvilles - size down 1" - quite a different fit to most jeans out there though (massive rise, loose at thigh and comparitively tapered at the leg).

Julian Red - fit small, so maybe true to size on raw and possibly size up on non raws

Nudies - size down 1 or 2

Raf by Raf - true

Ring - true

Got some done via Son of a Stag - £37 but wasn't a complete blowout. Turnaround was Saturday - Wednesday and the patch and darning over looks very solid / thorough. They did say it would be longer so bought some new raw ones in the meantime Laughing out loud

Can anyone recommend a cheaper alternative to these OL second cut lightwash jeans? https://www.endclothing.com/gb/our-legacy-second-cut-jean-m2195scs.html

Edwin have a few washes that are fairly similar to those, maybe not quite as light though.

Any FUK'er tried Unbranded Selvedge as an alternative to APC?

I got a pair of their 'skinny fit' jeans about a month ago, they aren't really very skinny more of a slim fit. Denim seems good quality, rougher than APC though. Got mine really cheap on eBay, but worth full price imo.

Any recommendations for a decent pair of slim fit black denim with a normal rise? I had to sell my Orslow 107s as I lost some weight.

I've only bought Japanese brands for the last few years but would prefer to spend around £100 here. APC used to have a horribly low rise, so assume that's still the case.

Does anyone have any experience with Gap slim fit selvedge? 40% off, so might be ok for the coin.

I backed the Gap selvedge as I discovered I really don't like denim with any sort of stretch in them.

I picked up a beater slim straight pair from H&M for £25. Surprisingly decent and no stretch. They'll do until I track down some Orslow 107 in black.

Noticed these Arket ones in their sale earlier, they say straight fit but look relatively slim to me. No idea about quality or sizing I'm afraid, but everything I've got from Arket so far has been decent. ARKETSTUDENT for 15% off too.

Thought I'd try an alternative to Mr Handy as while his work is to a high standard I don't fancy my jeans being stuck in limbo for two months. Also didn't want to go with the "thread sponsor" The Denim Butcher.

Went with https://www.soldierblue.co.uk/ via Son of a Stag. Had a small crotch hole and a medium sized hole around the thigh area repaired, and it only cost £28.99 including return shipping via UPS back to me. One week turnaround from me posting the item to them and the repaired pair being delivered back to me.
