Official thread sponsor: The Denim Doctor. First aid for your old denim.

———————————————————————————-

Acne - fit true to size

APC New Standards -size down 2 or even 3 from true waist size

APC New Cures - size down 1 or 2 from true waist size

April 77 - size down 1 or 2 from true waist size

Dior raw 19s and 21s - have vanity sizing and are labelled as two sizes smaller than actual size

Edwin Nashvilles - size down 1" - quite a different fit to most jeans out there though (massive rise, loose at thigh and comparitively tapered at the leg).

Julian Red - fit small, so maybe true to size on raw and possibly size up on non raws

Nudies - size down 1 or 2

Raf by Raf - true

Ring - true

Darning is good, but not as good as Mr Handy in my opinion. However, when weighing up costs (Mr Handy is based in the Netherlands) and time, Soldier Blue is a no brainer.

Used The Denim Butcher about 6-7 years ago for chainstitching and crotch repair and at the time I was happy. However, when I decided to test the waters with other people, Iron Heart and Son of a Stag for chainstitching, Mr Handy and Selfedge for crotch repairs, when put side by side his work was awful in comparison.

Ordered a pair in black. Hoping they are relatively slim.

Had some. The texture is crazy and cool. But they weren’t overly durable. But I am hard on denim.

Sounds about right from what I'm reading, cheers. CBA with that. Been impressed by RJB and the one pair of IH I have. Any other recommendations? Thinking about a heavier denim for the A/W.

What Iron hearts do you have? The 21oz is really comfy. If you really want to go heavy their 25oz is something special. After a bit of wear it gets really soft

Pretty sure it's these: https://rivetandhide.com/shop/brands/iron-heart/iron-heart-555s-16-vintage-selvedge-super-slim-jeans.html?___store=default

Decent weight for the summer and worn them pretty much every day during the week. Broken in with some nice fades.
