Official thread sponsor: The Denim Doctor. First aid for your old denim.

———————————————————————————-

Acne - fit true to size

APC New Standards -size down 2 or even 3 from true waist size

APC New Cures - size down 1 or 2 from true waist size

April 77 - size down 1 or 2 from true waist size

Dior raw 19s and 21s - have vanity sizing and are labelled as two sizes smaller than actual size

Edwin Nashvilles - size down 1" - quite a different fit to most jeans out there though (massive rise, loose at thigh and comparitively tapered at the leg).

Julian Red - fit small, so maybe true to size on raw and possibly size up on non raws

Nudies - size down 1 or 2

Raf by Raf - true

Ring - true

who Rivet & Hide recommended to me and have done a good job

Has anyone recently had a crotch repair done and can comment on price/quality, not convinced by the example on their Insta. Any other suggestions for London area? Usually use Denim Doctor, but ends up costing a fair amount with postage for a small amount of work.

Just got my jeans back from Field Denim. Really pleased with the work and a good price too. Nice bloke who runs it, overall experience preferable imo to DD.

Anyone able to comment on the fit of Sugar Cane 1947’s? Fit pics on the web look like what I’d be after - high rise, decent amount of room in the top block. But measurements seem to be all over the place from various sources. A fair few places suggesting they fit small vs. tagged size.

If anyone could comment (or compare to say, Orslow 105s or Full Count 0105s) that’d be ideal.

Cheers.

Looking to buy a new pair of jeans and thinking of going into stores to try them on. So I far I have the below stores to visit

Son of a stag
Clutch

Any other stores in London?

Cheers

I think those 2 are the best.

Rivet and Hide is just down the road from Clutch, so worth a look.

Maybe American Classics in Covent Garden, but not worth a dedicated trip like the others.

never thought about it. They are too small for me now haven’t worn in years just been in storage. Tagged 32” but fit more a 30”.

They didn’t look anything like that when I first bought them. Just washed jeans a few scuffs no holes originally and all the repairs done but various folk over the years. Knees got holes at some point then got repaired then new holes. Had these for years.

Depending on your budget, 45r is off of Bond Street so not too far from Clutch.
