I'm still an idiot at 5.30am - they are the 1954 501Z straight legs that were in the Mr. Porter sale. Went TTS. Cheers for the advice. Think I'll give the bath soak a whirl and try and tune out my flatmate's mockery during the drying. As they've already got a 'slightly distressed finish' are they likely to shrink as much?

Edit: Forgot to mention they're mad cheap.

thinking about the Gilded Age raws in the Mr Porter sale… anyone know what the quality is like?

I dunno man, you're probably right. I'm a denim neophyte, hence the confusion. They just had a note on the porter page saying to size up due to shrinkage.

Cheers beedub. I didn't entirely get it either - maybe they're just compensating for levis' flaky sizing & a layman's machine wash. Glad I went true size anyway from what you've said.

Is there anywhere in the UK to try samurais on? Kind of fancy trying a pair after the talk in here.

Nope, but with Blue in Green soho's measurements you cant go far wrong.

Anyone know how Our Legacy Washed denim fits?

Looking at the unbranded slim straight jeans, Am I right in thinking size down 1 size?

this is prob a daft question but is there any raw denim that doesn't bleed everywhere.
or a really dark blue non raw denim that is colourfast.

i dont seem to get any bleed from my apc's. well not like ive noticed that my jap denim used to do to the settee, car seats, shoes pants and socks and shirts and jumpers.
