LOL thats a better strike rate. 1 goal every 1.6 games is better than 1 goal every 1.9 games

One thing to bear in mind is that the dutch league is probably on a par with the SPL unfotunately.

its all settled in and ive come to realise i support Arsenal not Thierry Henry.
Yeah his strike rate is phenomenal, just look at some vids on youtube and his goals are both feet and he looks canny in the air too. Obviously the dutch league isnt the prem but under the stweardship of wenger who knows what will happen.

Why do Utd need a striker? Leading scorers last season, and now strengthened their attacking options with 2 more forward players. They'll be playing 4-2-3-1 anyway, so another striker is only going to be warming the bench. Rossi might be given his chance, Saha will hopefully get to full fitness for the first time in his Utd career after his op, Smith might not end up going, Richardson will hopefully be shot, all will be well.
Well, the reason we need another striker is that rooney, isn't really a striker of sorts. He's a forward, he plays best when placed just behind a box-man, like ruud, imo. You can't rely on your mifielders to score most of the goals, though it worked alright this season. I'd like to see an outright striker, so rooney can play off him.
Oh and Noble, i wasn't saying that ruud wasn't a better striker, just correcting Guido on the price. And imo, he is a better striker, an absolute machine in the 16yard box.

You obviously know your football mate. Won 1 league title in Ruuds 5 seasons at the club, our worst record since the start of the Prem. 1 season without him and we're champions, potential treble winners. Great goalscorer unquestionably, but halting the teams progress - build up was too laboured, predictable, gameplan was get it to Ruud, no plan B. We were starting to look much better towards the end of 05-06 when he was injured/dropped and Saha was playing. And Hargreaves wasn't bought as an alternative to Carrick - it's not either / or. And when did I mention starting Nani & Anderson?
