Big thanks to jacko198 today for going to Harrods for me. Unfortunately item was sold out, but what he did find out for me was that I could be added to a list for when it comes back in stock which it just so happened to tonight and the Harrods man rang me and let me order over the phone Ubercool

Yo LFC. I’ll be back in London this weekend so can swing by Harrods if you need anything.

Side Effect by Initio is a good one that I’ve tied recently

Talking of 'Side Effect(s)' - what were they when your bird read the 'Life Advice Thread', NB?

Thanks Nigel but I’m finally sorted. If there’s any chance of any Kosmala samples or Bois Oro Rosso or anything unusual for that matter if you’re going that way Laughing out loud I’d be very grateful.

Montabaco Verano. Added Grapefruit to the original, so on the same path as Tygar in freshness for the opening. I love the original but never had a full bottle so this is a useful buy for me.

I quite liked side effect but not bottle worthy for me. Everyone raves about Rehad, but it’s an expensive spice bomb to me. The one from Initio that’s the real winner is Oud for Greatness, to me that’s their best.

Oud for greatness is good for winter. Didn’t rate Rehab either.

How’s the Ormonde?

That was quick LFC! Its bloody lovely

For someone who isn't massively into their fragrance's, can anyone recommend something "cheap" (under £80) I have some CGD fragrance's but is there anything I should be looking for at a similar price that perhaps isn't quite as obvious?

Without spending all day in the fragrance's section of Selfridges/Harrods its hard to know what's what! Is there a site that sells samples or am I imagining that?

Yeah it’s really nice mate. Initial spray though was a bit worrying as it’s very sharp at first but after 15 minutes it had settled and was really nice. Not sure if you’ve smelt the original Montabaco but it’s so smooth so it’s more of that with slightly fresher side. Defo think you’d be in to it as you like Tygar.

Jacko, for samples for more designer based fragrances it’s best to get samples from the likes of John Lewis and Debenhams as they are free. If more niche brands then it’s obviously paying for them from sites(I added a load a few pages back) but then prices start going up and up.

There’s a brand called Alexandria who are probably one of the biggest clone brands with a decent reputation which would be worth a look. Also Dua fragrances are great but come from the US so expect to pay extra £10-15 handling fee if ordering from there.

Just thought I’d add what I’d be going for at this price range or even cheaper, but knowing what you are in to would be better for recommendations.

Guerlain L’Homme Ideal

Acqua di Parma Mandorlo di Sicillia

Armaf Club de Nuit Milestone (if you like Creed Millesime Imperial this is a £35 ebay version that lasts 5x longer)

Serge Lutens Amber Sultan (this is high retail but pops up on ebay sometimes for good prices)

Atkinsons The Other Side of Oud

Gallivant Istanbul (you can get this for £33 for 30ml posted in the Facebook groups instead of £65 retail, real nice as well)

Bottega Veneta Pour Homme Extreme (think this has been discontinued but one of my favourite leather scents)

Got to be honest though I still go back for a bottle of the OG Le Male whenever I run out. Such a great and timeless fragrance by still one of the best perfumers in the world. If you ever do go for this make sure it’s a made in France version as they do made in spain versions in box sets that are shit.

Cheers LFC, going to try and get a few samples or get to Selfridges or something.

That Alexandria looks good, trying to decipher their fake names is a bit of a pain though Laughing out loud

What are the margins on fragrances that cost £100+ ? Would love to see the business model. Must be ridiculous.
